Hey Ron,

What happens you put a ps3 disc in the drive? Does it not register at all? Does it read BLUERAY movies because if so it should read games as well.

Cant play games

Sounds like a bad blueray drive and would need to be replaced or repaired. Call sony and see what can be done for you as far as any warrenties.

do you have the old 80 gb system becaue i heard that sony took it out the backward compatiblity but i think that you can download the program that allows you to play ps3 games at the playstation store.

Does it register other games? If it does, there could be a problem with that CD (I would suggest wiping it off and checking for scratches).
If it doesn't recognize any of your other CDs, it's more than likely an issue with the reader, and for that you will want to check with Sony.
