Generally, there are two ways to reset forgotten HP BIOS password.
One is forcing BIOS/CMOS to reset itself to its stored defaults by
removing all power to it. The other is to use a program to either locate
or identify the password and reveal it to you or erasing the password entirely.
At this moment, HP
Elitebook based on UEFI Bios provides a tool to reset BIOS password
specially - HP SpareKey.

I tried CMOS battery removal to no avail (just get 500 error and a restore complete with original unknown user:pass). Then I chanced across this utility which runs from a USB stick and this nuked the admin password and allowed me into my 6930p bios - genius!

To reset EliteBook 6930p Administrator BIOS password use http://unlockbiosrecovery.com/Unlock_HP-Compaq_Bios.php and they can calculate your bios master password. Just enter 3 wrong passwords and you should see a system halted message and a 10 digit hash code. This is the code to give unlockbiosrecovery.com and for $20 they will email you back the master password for you HP Elitebook 6930p Notebook and they guarantee it to work or they refund your money. Can't beat it and I use them all the time in my work fixing PC laptops.
