My Sony, KP-51HW40, flashes green blips and then shuts down. The little red light on the front of the TV goes on and off eight times after the tv shuts down. IS there a part associated with this red flash code or is there something I can do to solve this? Same problem. I turn the TV on and it looks fine for 15-20 seconds. After 15-20 seconds the colors slightly shift toward red followed by a green flash or two. There no picture with hte green flashes, just green. After the flashes the TV turns itself off. The red LED flashes 8 times repeatedly - 8 flashes, pause, repeat forever. I tried the solution about turning the center adust screw counter-clockwise with no improvement. Something tells me it's time to get a new TV ...
Blink codes are at this site. Also you can get the onscreen diagnosis by pushing set, number 5, volume -, then power.
Or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp.
the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.
My sony TV KP-51HW40 stays on for less than 1 minute, the screen turns green and then shuts off.
Hi I have a Sony KP-57hw40. It will work for few minutes and turns green and shutoff .It has some green lines from end to end.

Yes i have the same problem and no help from sony someone suggested the d board #a1300417a is this correct my serial # is 9038392 thank you
I have the same problem. I did adjust the 3 knobs for each color as the Tech support recommended, it worked for 3 days and it happened again with green light flashing and shut off. Not sure is the lamb issues.
I have the same problem after 20 seconds but it flashed red just like the video then pic shuts off and goes to standby mode
I have the same problem. I did an adjustment on the 3 knots, the TV can be stay on for an hour, then it dies. If I turn it on right away, then I see cyswok's problem. only stay on for 2 mintues.
If I wait for 15 mintues, I can watch TV for another hour before it dies again.
Is there a fix for that? How about the cost? If cost me more than $400, I want a new TV, making sure it is not another SONY.
