SOURCE: My Coby 40 inch HDTV wont turn on. The blue light

I had a 32" Coby that did the same thing, turned out to be a defective main board. The main board wasn't sending the 3.3v signal to wake up the power supply. In my case I sold the tv for parts because it wasn't cost effective to replace the main board. It sound like your main board

SOURCE: My coby tftv3229 wont turn on and I've only had it

If its two weeks old why are you here? Take it back to point of purchase and either have it fixed or replaced or get a refund.....

From the brand you likely are in UK but here all sets come with some kind of warranty==the problem sounds like a power supply issue but if you have a warranty and open the set it will void that warranty.

SOURCE: COBY POWER BUTTON WONT TURN ON

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.
If set is opened at least look for bad puffed up on top caps like these.

There is no TV button to press on rc-017 remote, setup instructions say press on tv button till led lights up.

If you mean the Coby RC-017 remote, it is not a universal remote that can be set to control any TV or other device. This remote will only work with the TV for which it was originally programmed. I believe it should work for a TF-TV1511, if both the remote transmitter and television IR sensor are working. Assuming you have the correct TV, try just pressing the power button.

I hope this helps.

Trying to find a remote code. The tv is a 19"PLEDV1945A-B and the remote is a Time Warner UR5U-8780L-TWC

TV Instructions:
TV Codes: try 333
or 116, 143, 258, 363
STEP 1 Turn on the TV.

STEP 2 Press the [TV] button and the [OK/SEL] button simultaneously for three seconds. The TV Device LED will turn on indicating that the remote is in the programming mode. The LED will remain on for 30 seconds and the next step must be entered while the LED is on.

STEP 3 Point the remote control toward the TV and enter the three-digit code number assigned to your brand device (codes can be found in the code tables in the user guide or online). If there are more than one three-digit number listed for your brand, try one code number at a time until your TV turns off.

Note: When the TV turns off you can verify that you have selected the correct code by pressing the [POWER] button. The TV should turn back on. Then try all of the functions on the remote control (i.e. volume, mute, etc.) to ensure you have the correct code. If any of the functions do not operate as they should, repeat the instructions from STEP 3 above using the next three digit code number from the brand list.

STEP 4 Store the three-digit code by pressing the [TV] button once again. The TV Device LED will blink twice to confirm that the TV code has been stored.

I need code for coby tv-1360, to work with rca systemlink 4

Hello
There is no code for your Coby with RCA systemlink-4 specified. But you can find the stored coed in Coby with RCA remote. Here is the proceedings. Do it and check.
Press and Hold CODE SEARCH button until ALL FOUR device choice buttons light up.
These FOUR buttons DO light up, they are on the SECOND ROW from the top; and from LEFT to RIGHT are named:
SAT-AUX CABLE VCR TV

After ALL FOUR are lit, RELEASE the CODE SEARCH button. All four lights will stay lit!
Select the device you want to control. Press that button ONCE!
The light will stay on for the selected device, the other lights will turn off. Press the OFF-ON button repeatedly until device powers up or down. If device is off and this turns it ON, try channel up or down. If device is turned ON and this turns it OFF, press ENTER and try to turn it on.
If this does NOT work, you don't have the correct code. Go through all the previous steps from the beginning. I actually counted the number of times I depressed the OFF-ON switch, and this helped immenssely! For example, the TV turned Off or On after 19, 45, 76, 94, 115 and 164 depressions of the OFF-ON button.
Of course it wasn't until I hit the 164 mark that it controlled all functions, and is now going great! But I knew NOT to **** around with a number I had all ready tried, and which didn't do the trick the first time!
Remember, when you start from the beginning, it's just that, from the beginning! You'll notice the device turns on or off after the same amount of depressions of the OFF-ON button, but that may not be the code you need.
Again, this is for an RCA SystemLink 4 Remote Control only, NOT for any other model!!

Without codes:
  1. Turn on TV.
  2. Press and hold CODE SEARCH until all device buttons light, release button.
  3. Press TV button. TV button will stay on.
  4. Press POWER repeatedly until TV turns off.
  5. Press ENTER.
[3]
With codes:
  1. Turn on TV.
  2. Press and hold CODE SEARCH until all device buttons light, release button.
  3. Press TV button. TV button will stay on.
  4. Using number keypad enter code for TV.
  5. Press ENTER.

19" Coby TV not listed

Hi, your only option is to do a code search to see if another code works for your tv. Instructions below.

If you were unable to find the code for your brand of TV or component, you can try a code search. This process may take up to 30 minutes.
1. Turn on the TV or component. Insert a tape or disk if applicable.

2. Slide the MODE switch to the TV, AV1 or AV2 position, as desired.

3. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same time until the green light under the selected switch position flashes twice, then release both keys.

4. Enter 9-9-1-1

5. Press PWR, or other functions (e.g. PLAY for VCR) you want to use.

6. Point the remote at the TV or component and press CHAN+. Repeatedly press CHAN+ until the TV or component turns off. NOTE: Every time CHAN+ is pressed the remote advances to the next code and power is transmitted to the component.

7. Use the CHAN- key to step back a code.

8. When the TV or component turns off, stop pressing the CHAN+ key. Then, press and release the SELECT key.

I need a code for a rca and a coby remote controle

Sanyo. 1004, 1048, 1049, 1073, 1080, 1162, 1169, 1180

1. Manually turn on the component you want the remote to control
(TV, VCR, DVD, satellite receiver or cable box).
2. Press and hold the component key (TV, VCR·DVD, SAT·CBL) you
wish to program. The LED indicator light turns on and remains on. If you release the component key any time during the Direct Code Entry
procedure, the LED indicator light blinks four times, and the process
is exited.
3. While holding down the component key, enter the four-digit code that corresponds to your component’s brand. While you are pressing the numbers, the LED indicator light turns off.
5. After the fourth number is entered, the LED indicator light turns on. At this time, release the component key.If the LED indicator light turns off, you have entered a valid code and have followed the correct procedure for Direct Code Entry. If you enter a code number that
is not in the Code Lists or you do not follow all of the steps for Direct Code Entry, the LED indicator light blinks four times when the component key is released. This is an indication that a programming error has occurred. In that case, repeat the Direct Code Entry process from step 2 and try the next code listed.
