Power on your Wii console and press the A Button on the Wii Remote to reach the Wii main menu. Use the Wii Remote to select the "Wii" button.

Now, select "Wii Settings" to access the "Wii System Settings" menu.

Using the arrow on the right side of the screen, scroll to page two and select "Internet."

Select "Connection 1: None"

(Don't see "None" in Connection 1? Click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings.")

Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point."

(Are you using a wired Internet connection to your Wii console? If so, click here for specific help.)

Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds.

Select the wireless network that is yours.

(If you're not sure which is yours, or you don't see any wireless networks, click here.)

Asked to enter a security key?

If you are prompted to "Enter the Password or Key," then the wireless network you are trying to connect to has wireless security turned on. You will need to type in your security key or password and select "OK."

Don't know your router's security key?

Let us help you find your router's security key. Select the brand of your router below and we'll provide you with the default information for that brand!

Linksys Netgear DLink

Belkin Apple 2Wire

All other brands

Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."

The Wii console will run a connection test with your wireless network when the test is completed. You should see the following screen:

As long as you see "The connection test was successful," the "Wii Support Code" does not matter and can be ignored

The connection test was successful - Then you're almost done! After your connection test, the Wii console will check if there is a new Wii System Update available. Once you select "Yes" and "I Accept," the Wii will begin to download any available updates. Click here to find out what's next!

The connection test was not successful - If the test was not successful, you will receive an error code.

Error Code 51330 or 52130: This means the security code you entered into the Wii is not the same one your router is set to. Look in your router's settings and try again. Please refer to step seven (7) above for more information.

All other error codes: Try our error code troubleshooting where we have detailed information on many common error codes. (You can ignore any "Wii Support Code" you receive on a connection test.)

Trying to set up my wii to internet. have correct address, betting error code 51331

According to Nintendo's website you will receive that error if you have not entered in your wireless passcode correctly. See below error explanation from Nintendo:
Error Code: 51331
Unable to connect to your wireless network
Likely cause: It appears that the password (also known as a WPA or WEP key) entered into the Wii console is not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.
How to fix: Make sure the password is entered into the Wii exactly as it appears in your router's settings. Security keys are case sensitive.
Don't know how to find your router's password?
Look for a sticker on the bottom of your router. Many routers provided by Internet service providers have their default password located on a sticker on the bottom of the router.

If you're not able to locate the password here, select the brand of your router below and we'll show you how to access your router's settings.

I am trying to connect Netflix to my Wii and I keep getting error code 51330 and 51331. I don't know what these errors are. I am trying to set up with wireless internet.

From Nintendo:
Error Code 51330, 51331, and 51332
It appears that the wireless security pass code for your home network may have been changed or is entered incorrectly on the Wii console. Click here for more information about WEP and WPA security, including how to access the settings for your Access Point.
If your wireless network password isn't wrong, reply. Hope this helps somewhat.

Trying to connect wii to wireless internet and recieving a error message code of 51331

Hey there. Hope this helps.

51331: this error is caused by the Wii being unable to connect to the access point

So what you need to do:

Try changing the channel of your wireless router to either channel 1 or channel 11 which can increase download speeds.

If your router is using WEP encryption

  • Ensure your key is hexadecimal, consisting of 0-9 or A-F only, no other special characters or letters.
  • 64 bit encryption requires your WEP key to be 10 characters consisting of numbers or leters A through F.
  • 128 bit encryption requires your WEP key to be 26 characters consisting of numbers or leters A through F.
If your router is using WPA encryption, the Wii is compatible with :
  • WPA - PSK(TKIP)
  • WPA - PSK(AES)
  • WPA2 - PSK(AES)
If your router is using MAC filtering, ensure the Wii MAC address has been added to the list of approved MAC address on your wireless router settings.

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your wii. According to Nintendo, error code 51331 is:
Error Code: 51331

Unable to connect to your wireless network

This error code is more specific to having incorrect security settings on your wii. Your encryption key is wrong when trying to connect to your wireless internet. Double check your encryption key with your router's settings and try again.

You can see the official support article from Nintendo here:

Error Code 51331

Wii Error Code 51331 means there is a problem with wireless security.
Make sure your router’s WEP key matches the WEP Key you entered in the Wii.
If your router is using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be 10 characters.
For 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be 26 characters.
WEP Keys can only use the characters 0-9 and A-F.
If your router allows more than one WEP key to be entered at a time, make sure the key you’re using is on slot one.
If you double checked the WEP or WPA key with the router and the Wii and they match, but you still receive the Wii Error Code 51331, then MAC filtering may be enabled in the router. You will have to add your Wii’s MAC address to the router’s allowed list. You can do this by logging into your router and going to the “access control, access list, or network filter” settings.
If you still have trouble with Wii Error Code 51331, try changing the wireless router’s channel to 1 or 11. This may increase download speed.
Check Nintendo’s router page for special notes on your router if available. Follow the instructions of the special notes.
Your wireless router must broadcast in mixed or b/g mode and cannot be set to “g” only mode.
If you still encounter the Wii Error Code 51331, try doing manually setting up the Wii’s internet connection. You can find your network information to enter into the Wii by doing this:
On your PC, click “Start” and then “Run.”
Type “CMD” into the field that appears to open a new window.
Type “IPCONFIG/ALL” and press “Enter” to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.
Power cycle the wireless router and modem by unplugging both from the wall. After waiting a minute, plug the modem back in and wait another couple of minutes for the modem to initialize. Plug the router in and wait for the router to initialize. Now try reconnecting the Wii to Nintendo WiFi Connection.

Hope this helps a little
