My jennair maytag frig model number JCD2295HES keeps freezing up on me. If i shut it down for an hour or two then turn it back on it is ok for a few days or so then it happens again

yes or u could have a defrost issue

if compressor is working you will hear it. Take panel off and vacuum the area get all dust and debris of compressor and coils. This dust causes heat and will keep your frig from cooling. If that doesnt work try shutting down for about 6 hours like a defrost and restart.

this used to happen to me, it is accualy the ice macine make sure you empty the ice compartment regularly

the loud noise is from the water freezing and hitting the fan blade in the freezer, is the imkr level? have you replace the filter if has one? is it hooked to an R/O water drinking system? if so remove the filter in frig. last thing to do if others questions ok if the shutoff to that water line going to frig is on the bottom of the pipe shut all the way off then turn back on if you have a dispenser and water is really slow to come out this may clear up the low water pressure. If on most units if you do not have appx 35psi it will not allow the valve inside the watervalve to seat and allows water to dribble by

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

most new fridges have a self defrost mode once or twice a day because the coils ice up if it collects alot of moisture. it shuts the compressor down and turns on a heat coil to defrost (which can take up to a half an hour). usually on a timer that is adjustable.

This is a common problem, you can run a few cups of vinager or bleach in a empty load set to hot wash and this will help. To keep it from coming back when your done doing wash wipe the door gasket down with a rag dampened with bleach and never shut the door all the way. Good Luck

sounds like a bad thermostat,that tells unit when to kick on and off.

If the unit was freezing up, then the start relay and overload did not need to be replaced.

Chances are, the defrost heater(s) are burned out on the evaporator. Confirm your Make and Model number to me and I will get more info to you.
