I have an Optio S camera. We haven't used it in a while because we lost the battery charger. We bought a new one and we took some pictures last night but they are not saving to the SD card. The card currently has no pictures on it. When we turn on the camera, we can see the pictures, but when we go to transfer them over, they don't show up on the SD card. Any thoughts? Thanks a ton!

They are being saved to the internal memory of the camera. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the instructions to erase the internal memory. Insert your card and it should now work properly.

I have lost the lead from my camera to my computer so I can't get the photos off my camera on to my Mac. Where can I find a replacement lead?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as iPhoto.

Even if you have to purchase a card reader, you might save money anyway. The last card reader I bought cost me less than the last USB cord I bought (and I still haven't used that cord with any of my cameras, only with my tablet).

Sounds like you have a defective camera. You might want to take the camera back to the place you got it and get a replacement. You can try removing and reseating the batteries to fix the problem.

I haven't used this camcorder in a couple of months (bought new in January). When I went to charge it last night, neither the mains charger or USB lead will charge it. Does it just need a new...

The battery should be good if it was bought in January, with that said nothing is nperfect or lasts forever, there are always issues with some things. If all your connections from the charger or USB are good and tight and the cables are good, the either the battery is bad or the plug in on the camera is bad, or the battery nmay be installed incorrectly. That is about all there can be .

My PENTAX OPTIO E10 Digital camera has been dropped and the battery cover has lost its grip. I have tried to glue the battery cover but it did not help. What should I do?

I dont think that you have much choice. There is only so much "jarring" that a digital camera can take. Maybe You can try 1 last time to fix the cover. Possibly using a good epoxy adheasive. that dries to a good hard state. If that fails,....... maybe you should consider a new one.sorry i wasn't more help. Good-Luck

Try using a separate card reader to download the pics.

My camera pentax optio wp wont turn on. though is

If possible, check the charger output or the charge status of the batteries with a voltmeter. That will narrow the field for you. If the charger and batteries seem OK, your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

If you haven't done anything to the card since formatting it then you may be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.
