I don't know if what your reply is that the watch can't be repaid or not. If so please say so. I will have to get another watch. It really is a nuisance that the watch is two days behind in the date, compared to the hours.

  • helenbell711 Jun 28, 2011

The watch is SHARP digital model shp4011. The watch has 4 side buttons. The watch is about ten years old. The watch can be set for the right date but not the right day.

Welcome to Fixya.

Hello Helen,

The pre-defined dates that is in your digital watch has reached its end date already. The calendars of old digital watches are pre-defined. It means that the whole calendar let's say for 15 years is stored in your watch. It is where the watch gets its data as you set it. You might have set the date correctly with the year 2011 but your watch's pre-defined calendar might be up to 2010 only since it is an old digital watch and that is the reason why it does not show the correct day anymore.

Buying a new watch is a good consideration. You can find great deals of Digital Watches at Amazon http://astore.amazon.com/securetransaction-20/search?node=523&keywords=digital+watches&x=11&y=13&preview=

Thank you for using Fixya. Have a great day.

If the watch is two days behind, then it has to be set to the current day and date.So that it functions properly.------- In most of the cases it can be set.But in some rare cases it cannot be set.But still give exact watch brand and model number. Also how old it is.Also how many side buttons it has.So as per that exact procedure can be provided and you can try it.------ Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

So to change the Day and Date of your Watch, slowly pull the Stem out... (Do note that if you have a Waterproof Watch, you'll need to unscrew the Stem counter-clockwise, which is towards you, until it unlocks, then you can pull the Stem out!) But this is where you need to go slow. If you pull it out slowly you should hear one snap. (It stops on the first notch) If you pull the Stem out all the way, it snaps twice and ends up on the second notch. (See picture below) The second notch, or all the way out, is where the Stem needs to be to set the Time.
the day inscription is two - day-changed.gif But the first notch, or first snap, is the secret and the key to setting the Day and Date! In the first notch position, you'll see that if you spin the Crown one way, it will change the Day. Spin it in the opposite direction and it changes the Date!
Do keep in mind that you may have to spin the Day and Date a couple rotations because it most likely will alternate between English and Spanish. Just pick the correct Language for you and it's done! When the Day and Date are set, push the Stem in all the way and enjoy your Watch!
If you still have the problem with your Watch changing Dates at Noon instead of Midnight, that just means you're on the wrong 12 hr cycle. (It's set for Twelve at Night instead of Twelve at Noon) All you need to do is pull the Stem all the way out, (second notch) and Spin the Minute and Hour hands ahead 12 hours. If it's Twelve O'Clock, spin it ahead until it's Twelve O'Clock again. Doing that will put the Watch on the correct 12 hour cycle.

The date and day are incorrect on my dakota atomic watch; how do I reset these please ?

if just time is off by one to three hour(s) , you need to ck your time zone settings , if the day is off by one day you need to wait 24hrs keeping watch in a good view of the sky (not locked in a metal box) it should auto correct itself to proper day when it receives the radio signal for two time cycles (24hrs)

GW-1500A Casio has to be sunlight every day otherwise it stops

Hi gregbrands,

If your watch is several years old, I would recommend sending it back to Casio for service and battery replacement. Contrary to what you may hear about solar-powered watches, the rechargeable batteries do not always last for 10-20 years. I've seen some go out in 2-3 years. This is a shorter lifespan than most standard lithium watch batteries.

You may have an authorized Casio service center near you also. If not, contact Casio at the following numbers:

For Repair support in USA at 1-800-706-2534 during regular business hours (currently Monday-Friday 9:00a.m. - 5:00pm EST, Saturday / Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.) For Technical support in USA at 1-800-435-7732 during regular business hours (currently Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 8:00pm EST for all products, Saturday / Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m)

The cost of your watch well justifies this kind of service, plus, they will assure it remains waterproof up to its specifications.

Let me know if I can help further.

Thanks, Bill

I cant set the day its always monday here in my watch

I believe that you have to keep turning the time forward until the correct day comes up, Given that, I suggest that you wait until Tuesday so you'll only have to go through 24 hours of time before your day clicks from Monday to Tuesday.

I have the correct time and date but the day shows Sunday and it should show Saturday. I need to understand the setting sequence.

The day changes at midnight but if your watch thinks it is displaying 11a.m. when it is in fact 11p.m., then it won't change over until noon the next day.

Solution; wind your watch forward 12 hours (tedious, I know). You will then need to reset the watch to the correct day.
