I have kitchen aid model KHHC2090SSS0 microwave. How do you replace the turn table driver ps990920.? My wife did something to partially melt ours. Other than that micro wave has been great and still runs but not well (not quiet) with damaged driver. Any manuals available?

That may be called the turntable coupler or turntable support or roller ring assembly.

My wife noticed a strong smell of something burning inside our home. Luckily we were home. The microwave was NOT on...and the turntable was turning and making that grinding sound. When I opened the door, the turntable kept turning....all digital lights were OFF. The microwave does not work. I am extremely angry that this unit was able to continue to grind unnoticed. If we were not home, I assure you that this would have caused a kitchen fire. The upper inside portion was extremely hot to the touch and the cabinet on top of the over-the-range microwave was also very hot. This would have easily caused ignition and a subsequent kitchen fire. I am going to report this to the UL.
It might be worth saving. I've worked on these for years.

Microwave Oven Control Panel Repair Nationwide
"Recycling by repairing since 1982"
If everything on the microwave works, except the turntable, this could be a simple turntable drive motor failure. It does happen from time to time. This motor gets a workout as it runs each and every time you use the oven. I just want to reassure you that these DO wear out and should not be an indication of the quality of the oven. I've had to replace them before. The motor costs about $34 at searspartsdirect.com. That is...if your model number is correct. You will need to go to the web site and type in your COMPLETE model number. There are several Kitchen-Aid models listed with the number you provided. I managed to scroll through several of the part listings and they all seem to be consistent with identfying the motor you need as item #11 under the "Oven Cavity" heading. The part number is W10159107. This is a fairly simple repair job. You shouldn't have to uninstall the oven if it is cabinet mounted. All have to do is unplug the power source and remove the panel covering the underside of the microwave. The plastic spindle just pulls off the motor shaft. Let me know if you need further assistance. I hope this helps you.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.
