Onward Manufacturing, the company who makes Broil King grills, doesn't make a gas grill that uses coals above the burners. I have been a Broil King Dealer since 2005, I haven't seen one yet. Are you certain you have a "Broil King Grill?" As the Model Number 531/33GBC, you listed, doesn't show up in my data base for Broil King. Perhaps you have a Broilmate grill? Which is made by a different company.

Please advise. Thanks

My gas fire has just had new coals replaced nice. Then there are large flames forcing through the gaps of the coal making loud noises as if there is a draft or air combining from some we're trying to

Paul is correct, but also check the air ajustment for the burners. If you have real large yellow flame the shutter should be opened till you get a blue flame.

How to get a smoke house flavor when grilling.

When grilling with charcoal, if you want a smokey flavor, soak pieces of wood like apple wood, hickory, or cherry wood in water over night. When your grill is ready to cook on, wrap the wet wood in tin foil and put it on the coals.

Im looking for a side burner handle for a broil king soverign xl

BroilKing, for whatever reason, doesn't sell parts directly to the consumer. They would like for you to return to the dealer you purchased it from, for parts. However, there is another company that stocks hundreds of parts for juts abut all makes and model grills. In fact, I've purchased parts from them, successfully. Appliance Factory Parts should be able to help you.

Just got the bbq yesterday - the 2 burners on the left ignite and burn normally. The third burner on the right won't ignite either manually or with igniter...you can hardly hear the gas coming out.

It may be a case, that the burner orifice for that burner is clogged with shipping debris or something similar. Remove the third burner and inspect the orifice for foreign debris. Also, check the venturi valve on the end of the burner for clogs. Onward Manufacturing, the company that makes Broil King grills is a good company and stands by their product. If you continue to have a problem with the grill contact their Customer Support Hot-line 800-265-2150.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling

Replacement of gas burners

Hello, The model number that you gave is relatively simple to change the burners.
  1. Remove the 3 cooking grids
  2. Remove the 3 vaporizer tents
  3. Between each burner is a "pal nut" that just pushes on and will likely be destroyed when you remove it. They run a couple bucks each at Sears, part # 7000132
  4. This will release the carry over tube holding the burners down and the burners can be lifted out.
  5. Ensure that you clean out the carry over tube when you reassemble. This carries the flame from the first burner across to each of the rest of the burners when lighting them.
  6. Reassemble in the reverse order ensuring that you put the burner tubes over the burner valve tubes when reassembling.
You can find a parts listing with the parts numbers at: http://www.charbroil.com/Parts/80/Performance-Series.aspx

If this was helpful, please vote yes. Thank You!!
