Try rotating the nut COUNTER-CLOCKWISE.
Usually, nuts and bolts are Righty-Tighty, Lefty-Loosy, but frequently saw blad nuts use a Lefty-Tighty, Righty-Loosy.
They are built so that when the blade starts to turn, it puts a momentum on the nut that tightens it, so that a loose nut won't come flying off, and get someone injured.

I am having the same problem. Want to throw this thing against the wall. Not buying another. I'll switch brands before I waste the money.
I had the same problem and came across this post. I used WD40 on the nut and bolt and hit it with the wrench numerous times to loosen it up. Turned it lefty loosy and it worked. Just keep at it.
