Description When I connect my FinePix camera to my computer, the AutoPlay Wizard does not launch as shown in the manual. I have Windows XP and I have installed the FinePix Viewer software. Cause AutoPlay is a Windows XP feature. The AutoPlay setting may not be working properly in your Operating system. This situation is not the result of a faulty camera or FinePix Viewer software. Solution We suggest running the Microsoft AutoPlay Repair Wizard utility which is available as a free download from the Microsoft Download Center. The AutoPlay Repair Wizard scans your computer devices to find defective AutoPlay settings, and attempts to fix those it finds. To download this utility, please go to the Microsoft Download Center and enter "AutoPlay" in the Keyword box.

Can not down load photos into computer. Have cord also disk

install the driver from the disk ..and after that connect the camera to teh computer ..it will start the install wizard and after that will prompt you and say that the device is installed and ready to use..Be sure during all these operations the camera is charged and on ...some cameras will ask for confirm on the display in the moment of the plugging ...confirm the pc connect and thats all...Either will start an autoplay asking you what you want to do ...open containing folder or import using wizard ..or will do nothing and in this case ..if there was a software on the disk run it ..and import using it ..if there wasn't any import manager on the disk ..than you should use a photo manager like ACDsee..cause it has a import from device feature..(you can also use the windows picture manager ..if you have it installed..
or...usually after finishing the installation and restart the computer you will find the device or the removable storage inside the my computer folder..just open it and copy pictures from it into computer ..

I want to know if I can use the eject

The fix is simple...use a separate card reader to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop. Here's mine....it's $13 at Walmart, reads 32 different cards and is compatible with pc and mac. 1d9c8e1.jpg

When i plug my camera in to my laptop real player just opens same when i put in the card

Hi,

Check if you did not accidentally set real player to autoplay when you connect your camera or mem card.

In windows:

Right click on the device when connected and select "Open autoplay". A screen will appear. On the bottom of the screen click "View more autoplay options". Scroll down to your device and check if real player is assigned to open the device when connected.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

The setup wizard on the CD will not automatically run when inserted in the CD-ROM drive, what do i do?

  1. click on start
  2. My computer
  3. right click on CD/DVD Drive
  4. Left click auto run

selecting My Computer, right-clicking the drive that contained the CD-ROM, and selecting Properties. click the AutoPlay tab and select the Select an action to perform option, then double-click the program to use to run the CD-ROM. This action launched the program on the CD-ROM. Note that simply highlighting the program you want to use and clicking OK or Apply doesn't work; you must double-click the program and force it to launch on the CD-ROM or DVD in the drive. The CD-ROM then ran automatically, using the program associated with it on the AutoPlay tab.

Cannot download my pics

"I have tried to upgrade but to no avail." i need more info about what happens when you connect your camera but incase you haven't tried, the camera must be turned on after you connect it via usb. vista shouldn't be a problem. does the scanner and camera wizard launch when you connect your camera? i'm not too familiar with olympus models, but try connecting the [powered down] camera to your computer while it's in PLAY mode. power it up and see if windows will launch a prompt. is your computer new? many newer models have card readers built right in. if yours does not, and the above suggestions didn't work, try connecting an external card reader and uploading your images that way.
