Hi jtenu2,

The reason why you're getting the error message "product does not work with this operating system", is because the software is not compatible with your operating system. The easiest way to solve this error is to check if you're running a 32 or 64 bit operating system. Just right click on my computer then select properties and it will show you the details of your system. If you're using a 64 bit operating system you also need to install a 64 bit software on it.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Blue Screen with various STOP error messages appearing.

This is a tough one to troubleshoot since there are several issues which can result in this error. Let me start by listing known causes.

Corrupt pagefile.sys file
Corrupt or wrong drivers for system devices. printer, camera, ect.
Corrupt program drivers, adobe elements, capture card software.
Bad System Ram Modules.

You didn't specify if you installed anything new, hardware or software but to trouble shoot this issue begin by download Memtest86. This will test your system boards memory for errors.
If your ram passes the test you might try removing other devices such as printers and its software. Testing the issue after each uninstall.

Last you can try replacing system files or performing a system repair using your operating system cd. If you need to run the repair option and need help just post back here.

Hope this helps.

My Nikon Coolscan 8000 Ed will not start

Make sure that the computer you are using meets the criteria for the program with both the operating system and hardware. If so, try un-installing the camera software and then re-installing it. Beyond this, the problem can become a little complicated and require you to call the tech support from Nikon. They should know what it required to make their program function properly.

Problem installing Nikon View - "Locale does not match" error

When the Nikon installer runs it checks for certain files before performing the update. If it cannot find the require files it displays the "...locale does not match..." error. Verify the following if you experience this problem: Be sure that both the original Nikon View install and the new Nikon View/Capture Updater were both downloaded from the Nikon USA web site. There are known issues when two different regions are used for downloading the software. If either were downloaded from the incorrect web site re-download from the Nikon USA Technical KDB Download Page. http://www.nikonusa.com/software Verify that the installation was run while booted into Mac OS X. You CAN NOT install while booted into OS 9 and simply copy the application to the OS X "Applications" folder. Use the "System Preferences" (OS X) or "Control Panels" (OS 9) and "Startup Disk" to start up in OS X and then install Nikon View and Capture and then after restarting run the combined updater.

Nikon Capture 3 and Mac OS X 10.2 Installer Issue

On Friday August 23, 2002 Apple released an updated version (Mac OS 10.2) to the Mac operating system. While we are NOT yet announcing compatibility information we do have the following information regarding one issue. Mac OS X has a built-in feature that scans items as they are installed to check for security issues. When Nikon Capture 3.0 is installed the dialog box below will display indicating a possible issue. If the user clicks "Fix and Use" the dialog will be dismissed and the application will run as expected. If the "Use" button is clicked the application will run fine untilthe Mac has been restarted at which time the same dialog will appear. If "Don't Use" is clicked Capture 3 can not be started. A future version of the Nikon Capture installer will prevent this. As compatibility and usage information is available I will update you on Nikon software and OS compatibility.
