My Canon Powershot SX120is camera was dropped on a high school gym floor. Since then it hasn't turned on. I think the battery connections on the little battery door are damaged, since you can tell the door doesn't shut tightly any longer, and pressing it closed doesn't help, either.

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Canon Powershot SX120is wont turn on

This kind of problem happen because not all of AAA batteries in market are match with canon standards. so changed his mind about using disposable batteries on new models. your camera need new DC/DC board which is expensive(between 50 to 90 dollars). there is video in you tube to how replacing the board. But better suggestion is getting a new camera with chargeable battery.

Will not download photos

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto, Windows Photo Gallery, and Picasa.

Lens error canon powershot SX120IS

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct your problem. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:

Need help with settings to shoot in gymnasium - thanks

Virtually all cameras have a provision to set the "white balance" for different types of lights. You need to set your white balance for flourescent lighting. If that doesn't give you the color you want, don't hesitate to try the other settings...one of them may be exactly what you're looking for.
