Password request I have a multi-region DVP-1000 DVD player which works fine, except for one film (an American title called "Dance with the Devil") which asks for a password and won't play without it. I've never heard the like. It plays "Caligula" with no trouble, but I checked the 'rating' settings to be sure but they were fine. How does one enter a password? And how do I know what it is?

Turn on the unit with the remote controller, Wait until "no disc" appears in the unit's display. Press the keys: PAUSE, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9. And "CODE" will appear in the display. Press the number key that corresponds to the disc zone you want to play within the next 5 seconds:0: All regions / 1: Region#1 / 2: R#2/... and so on. Then, within 5 seconds, press: PAUSE, POWER... and voilà. If you don't have good results, disconnect the equipment and repeat.

The SONY DVP FX720 is region free. SONY is notorious for putting out DVD players that will not play all types of DVDs.

1. Switch on the player
2; open the CD compartment
3. Enter the following code (using the remote): 2812
4. Highlight the region
5. Change to 9 (for Multi-region) using the 'Enter' button
6. Hit 'Clear' to exit

HI, It has to be a setting and we will figure it out somehow. I am going to do more research today. It might be a few hours as Ihave al arge work lineup this morning. I appreciate your patience. ( I'm going to have to get that film now, you know!)

Did you purchase this model in another country? If not will you please recheck the exact model name and number as on the little plate on the player?

I have not got a problem with the screen, it works fine, I just want to make it multi regional, so need the codes for it please?, and the player type is SONY DVP FX 720

not u would have to set the code to 0 all sum do sum dont usally need a unversal region free player out of box to do it
