I am hooking up a pioneer super tuner d. It has an illusion wire and a positive dimmer wire. What are these wires for?

illumination....it goes to the dash dimmer circuit to vary the light intensity on the backlight on the stereo when driving at night time.

Without the model number of your super tuner, it's not possible to point you to a specific location for the wiring diagram.

I'd start with Pioneer support to see if they have a download for the manual. If that fails, try the manualsonline site. Manualsonline is not a free site.

Usually it's....

black = ground
red = switched battery power
yellow = constant batery power (for clock...etc)
orange = illumination
blue = amplifier turn on or accessory (electric antenna, amps etc)

green/white/purple/grey are speaker wires.

What model of Pioneer? Super Tuner 3 is just the type of radio signal receiver that the unit has. Give me a model number.

white with black stripe-left front speaker negative
grey-right front speaker-pos.-
grey w/black stripe-right front-neg.
green-left rear-pos.
green w/black stripe-left rear-neg
purple-right rear-pos.
purple w/black stripe-right rear-neg.
blue- remote turn on
orange w/white stripe-dimmer-optional
