I have the same projector and use this brand of bulb "OSRAM" Halogen Display/Optic Lamp: 64655 HLX 250W 24v G6.35 NAED 54254 and are cheap to purchase also the more you buy the cheaper the bulb.

45 year old Slide projector

Ask around your local photo shops for a guy with a long grey beard to ask.

You could try advertising for an instruction book on your local freecycle and if Hanimex is still in business they might help you.

Some of those slide projectors were intuitive as they were completely manual but there were also magazine load, semi-auto and fully automatic versions that could also have a recorded commentary and backing music synchronised to the slide show.

Best of luck friend, have lots of fun with it.

Where can I find a replacement bulb (24V 150 W Q.I. type Hanimex Type A1/216) for a vivitar slide projector.

Try searching at www.bulbman.com or at a "Batteries plus Bulbs" franchise. Look on the lamp for a 3-letter code. This ANSI code is unique to the lamp and is a great aid in lamp identification.

I HAVE AN OLD PENTAX ME SUPER 35MM CAMERA AND HAVE BEEN GIVEN A HANIMEX AUTO ZOOM F/80-200MM LENS BUT NEED AN ADAPTER RING TO FIT BOTH TOGETHER.COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHICH ADAPTER I NEED AND IF POSS...

You don't need an adapter ring, you simply need the correct lens. Like many aftermarket lenses, the Hanimex was made in a number of different versions to fit many different camera mounting systems.

Your camera accepts lenses with a Pentax K bayonet mounting, so the fix is to sell your lens (it's not worth very much though) and buy another which also shouldn't cost very much. You can even get them for free simply by asking on FreeCycle, it's where virtually all of my film camera equipment has come from.

It *might* be possible to get an adapter, but it depends entirely upon which mount the Hanimex currently has (you didn't say, and it's not always obvious just by looking at the lens), and very few can be adapted to a K mount. Those that do will lose automatic aperture coupling, making the lens and camera rather awkward to use, and the coupling will likely cost more than another similar lens in the same zoom range.
