SOURCE: I just purchased this humidifier.

Nicole, some of the packing material may have gotten into the drain tubing or hole and clogged it. Remove the water reservoir and look for a vinyl tube or drain hole in the cavity that the "bucket" came out of. If you can see anything blocking it, carefully remove it. I don't think at this point anything would have gotten any further down the drain tubing. Since this a brand new unit, consult your Owners Manual for directions on how to Troubleshoot this problem. If that fails, it's under warranty. Contact the manufacturer as directed in the Owners Manual.

Hope this helps to get your problem solved.

SOURCE: Model HD656E dehumidifier ran well

Hello
There should be a button on top for the fan speed,High and low.If your running it in automatic with say a humidity setting of 58 to 60,the fan will run low unless the unit sences say 70 to 80% humidity.

There is a filter in the back you may want to clean it, before you know it it will be hot and humid again.

To answer your question the unit is working fine. You can set the humidity level to its lowest point then try high speed, just for a test.

SOURCE: I have almost brand new

I'm assuming that this isn't a Timer issue - make sure it's off.
LO signals that the humidity is set to the minimum available setting - 30%. Normally that should keep the unit continuously working since the humidity in a room never drops so low, unless you live in a desert.
Try raising it a bit (up to 50) and see what's happening. If the unit doesn't starts then the defect is in the control board or the compressor - you will need to open the unit and verify that the power is delivered to the compressor and its starter coil. For that you will have to check its starting capacitor. This service manual will help you
http://www.retrevo.com/d/df/document.pdf?doc=daa28f4e2ec0b9179acf8d9f9672a0ed&ts=1312144540907&rk=0.22809628064164034
But i must warn you: if your unit is brand new you shouldn't touch or open it or the warranty will be voided - in that case contact the ones that sold it to you or the company that is providing the service, they will pick it up and fix it for free.

I am showing a HI on my current humidity/set humidity display what does it mean

The HI indicates that the current humidity is 90%+ in the room/unit. You should check if the filter is clogged. I've seen this message in dryer locations when the dehumidifier coils ice up. Check the coils (behind the filter) for any build up.

If this is a brand new dehumidifier, leave it on for an hour to see if it auto-defrosts. (A similar wait is needed if the room is cooler that 60 degrees F.)

If the unit continues to freeze up and the room is over 60 degrees, you may have a refrigerant leak in the dehumidifier. If it is still under warranty (5 years on the cooling system), contact Haier. The warranty service number is 1-877-337-3639.

The manual for the DE65EK is available here: www.haieramerica.com/downloads/dl/file/id/26/de65ek_manual.pdf . You will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to access the manual.

I hope this helps.

WE have a model DE45EJ - T. The humidifer is not pulling in anything or making any noise or doing anything at all. It says Lo in the bottom reading.

The "LO" in the bottom reading, Indicates the current humidity extraction setting. If the unit was operating properly not that long ago (A couple of hours), the reason it is not doing anything, maybe that there is no humidity above "LO" = 30% at this time. Once it the humidity level rises above 30%, it should turn ON and function normally.

Also, was the timer set to turn the unit OFF at a specific time?

If the unit wasn't working properly a couple of hours ago.

Check the air intake filter for excessive dirt or clogs. Turn the unit OFF & unplug it before removing the filter. While the unit is OFF, remove the bucket, empty it if needed and carefully replace i, making sure it is fitted properly in to it's holder.

Air obstruction: The dehumidifier requires an minimum of 12" to 18" clear air space around the entire unit.

Hope this has helped you further troubleshoot and solve the problem. To assist you further, in case you have misplaced yours, I am including a link to your Owner's Manual that you can download and print for future reference. http://www.haieramerica.com/en/asset/product/4ba7175e54

Does not collect water in bucket but runs all the time

Does it have a filter?

also:

"
It may be that the humidity level or temperature in the room where your dehumidifier is located is too low.

When the outdoor temperature is below 50 F, the indoor air will be dry even when the air inside is warm, therefore when it's cold outside the dehumidifier may collect little or no water.

Air conditioners will also remove moisture from the room, even if it's hot and humid outside, resulting in little or no moisture collecting in the dehumidifier bucket.

Some dehumidifiers have a deicer which turns off the compressor but keeps the fan running. When the compressor is off, moisture is not removed from the air. The deicer turns off the compressor when the room temperature is cold.

Some dehumidifiers do not have a deicer. If the room temperature is low enough, ice may form on the evaporator coil. The ice prevents the dehumidifier from removing and collecting water. If ice forms on coils, unplug dehumidifier until ice melts and room temperature rises."

Plug it in turn it on and nothing in the bucket after several hours

Hi, Mindy! The following is an overall review of what causes the problem you listed.

If the room air is less than the set air, then there is no water in the bucket, because there is almost no humidity in the air. If it is winter, there is likely not enough humidity in the air to have water collect in the bucket. A dehumidifier will only pick up humidity out of warm air. If you are running a dehumidifier in your basement in the winter, the room may be damp, but too cold for the dehumidifier to pull out the humidity. Try running the unit in the bathroom after having a hot shower without the bathroom fan on. If working correctly the unit should draw water. In addition, if you set the humidity level you want to maintain higher the actual humidity level in the house or room, it won't pickup and collect any moisture. The fans on most of the dehumidifiers on the market today run almost constantly. They do this, so that the room air is always moving and if humidity is detected, it will extract it.

Hope this helps you understand how dehumidifiers function and what you can expect from them under given circumstances,. In fact, there may not be anything mechanically wrong with yours. But, to make sure, do what is suggested above to test the unit.

The dehumidifier wont work even the lights was on and it show Lo all the times and we do not know why it happen and how can we get it fixed as we live in Oshawa, Ontario?

I found this on the web

Q - Will my dehumidifier work in a cold room ?

A - A dehumidifier will not operate satisfactory in a room that is below 65 degrees F. At this temperature it will become necessary to operate the dehumidifying coil below freezing temperatures in order to reduce the relative humidity to a reasonable valve. Frost on coils usually will appear.

I would imaging that the humidity is already lower than the dehumidifier could get it down to. that's why it reads "Lo" on the display.

Dehumidifier Present % indicates "Hi"

It is showing high because the present humidity is above 80%. Try turning the humidity setting down and let the dehumidifier run for a while. Once the dehumidifier lowers the humidity in the room this level will go lower. If this persists after running for a while you will need to contact LG for service. They back these models with a 5 year warranty. Here is the number to contact them at:
