The cause and solution may include one of the following: The card may not be certified SD or MMC. Purchase a certified SD or MMC memory card. The card may be corrupt. Reformat the memory card. CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. The card is not fully inserted in the camera. Turn off the camera, insert a card into the slot, then push to seat it.

I put pictures in my memory card but doesn't let me view them in my camera

You need to import the photos to your PC to view them. There are two ways to do so: connecting a camera directly to the computer via USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable and by using a flash memory reader. Using the flash memory reader is considered the fastest method to transfer images. Some of the popular types of flash memory card readers are Secure Digital (SD), Compact Flash (CF), Memory Stick (MS), Multimedia Card (MMC) and Smart Media (SM). Here is how you can use the reader to view photos from your digital camera.

Cannot format 8gb sdhc card. does this camera support this type of card?.

This camera supports SD or MMC memory cards only. All 4 GB and larger SD cards are actually SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards, and are not supported by your device. If you look closely at the card, you should find the SDHC mark on the label. Use only SD or MMC cards in this camera.

Storing or formating SD card

The Secure Digital (SD) memory card has a write-protect switch on the card case. Like the write-protect switch on a floppy disk, the SD switch prevents the card from being written to. (The SD card is slightly thicker than the MultiMedia [MMC] card.) Moving the write-protect switch will allow you to write to and format the SD card. If you are looking at the front of the card, the switch is on the upper-left side.

Cards not working with camera

If you used the SD/MMC memory card in another brand of camera or device, you may need to format the card in your new EasyShare digital camera. (You may have noticed a "Memory Card Needs Formatting" message when you inserted the card.) CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. To format the SD/MMC memory card or the internal memory of the camera: Transfer images to the computer before formatting the memory card. Press the camera Menu button. Highlight SETUP MENU, and then press the OK button. Highlight FORMAT, and then press the OK button. Highlight an option - MEMORY CARD (deletes everything on the card), CANCEL (exits without formatting), or INTERNAL MEMORY (deletes everything in internal memory). Press the OK button. Highlight Continue, and then press the OK button. Wait until formatting is finished before removing the card. When formatting is complete, the SETUP MENU is displayed. Press the Menu button to exit the menu.
