I have a Marantz SR 8001. The front display lights went completely out, but the blue lights over the selector knob, volume knob, and the HDMI blue light comes on. I was setting up a Logitech 1100 remote with the PS3 adapter and poof the lights went out. I grabbed the Marantz remote and hit the display button but nothing worked. I turned the receiver off and unplugged it and still no display. Any ideas?

You can select the display mode for the front display

Surround Mode ? Auto display OFF ? Display OFF ? Normal Mode ? Input Mode Normal Mode: Displays the selected input function. If the function has been renamed using the Function Rename feature (see page 26), the renamed name appears on the display. Input Mode: Displays the input mode set via the Function Input Setup feature (see page 25). Surround Mode: Displays the status of the selected surround mode. Auto Display Off mode: The display is off. But, if you make a change to the unit such as the input or surround mode, the display will show that change, then go back to off after about 3 seconds. Hi for some odd reason my Marantz sr 5006 is completely out of control I can't turn the volume up or down I tried resetting it several times what might be causing this

If it is a twist type knob that regulates the volume control they can often brake so you will need to take it off to inspect it you can do this by pulling it directly towards you ( a small screw driver placed behind it can help to get it off ) then you will be able to check to see if it is broken or not or if you can then control the volume by turning the shaft that the knob was meant to be attached to , a small amount of epoxy glue should fix the knob back onto the shaft if this is the problem .

Marantz SR-7200 volume -29dB blinking

Check Speaker connections at BOTH ends and double check to see that they are on the right terminals.

If you need a manual . the Marantz site will have one . PLus they may have FAQ notes for that receiver

I have a marantz sr 7001 amp and am running canton 4ohm speakers to front and centre should my amp get really hot and go into protect mode when I am giving it some serious volume

it is not made to drive 4 ohm loads.also if you measure the impedance on the speaker,at some frequencies,it is closer to 3 ohms. This will cause the amplifier to shut down.Today's amplifiers are embellished specs.the old marantz 2325 was 125 watts a channel and weighed 80 pounds. It would eat alive some of the 1000 watt home theater amps of today.Marantz is very nice stuff.

I have a Marantz SR-5600 surround Receiver. It has been shutting off the volume at various intervals recently. When I attempt to turn it back on a display reads " Check POW5

The POW5 fault indication means that the 5Volt power supply grid is not OK. The unit needs to be repaired by a professional repair engineer. No user servicable parts inside.

Hello there Ed.

For anyone that has ever had such an issue with a MARANTZ SR series (6001. 7001. 7002. 8001...etc...) issue a question and I do HAVE the answer.

I could be just anything, or just the low quality binding posts used by MARANTZ for that.

Please describe to me in details how you've connected your speaker wires at the back, and give me description when and how did this problem came up.

Kind regards
