FLAC is lossless and cannot be played directly on the iPod.

You can convert FLAC lossless music into high quality MP3 music files and then import it to iPod for playback.

Use converter software tool to convert the lossless music format FLAC to a high-quality MP3 format.

(Note: MP3 is a lossy format, so this operation is irreversible, which means that converting MP3 to FLAC later will not restore the lost sound quality.)

Here is the guide on how to convert FLAC to MP3.

I understood your problem ........The best solution is to use Format Factory software to convert your FLAC music file to any music file format like mp3,mp4,aac,mxmmf,midi,wav....etc..

After converting you can able to play music on your i-pod

If you have apple's I-pod then you requires I-tunes Software to sync the music files to your I-pod....

here i am giving you the link of format factory software enjoy....

How to play FLAC on my Windows PC?

Well, if you're willing to install one thing, you can use the VLC media player found here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

VLC also releases applications for Android and IOS, and nativly supports almost all media file formats. This solution would enable you to use the file in its original format on your computer and not worry about conversion issues.

Itunes - is there any way for itunes to pay .flac files? I'd like to be able to download flac files, import into itunes, and stream to apple tv

Yes you can play .flac files in iTunes. Its very easy just download a apple script named "fluke". Download from the following link if you are a MAC user.
http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/28768/fluke/

It's free for MAC but if you are a Windows user you can try the conversion software dBpoweramp (Free limited version will still get the job done) and download the trial version from the following.
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm
This link also gives some explanation on how to use this program and you can directly install it on your Windows computer.

(In order to open the link just hover your mouse on the link and click)

The following link gives the instructions for using Fluke script for MAC users

I just received an ipod 8g 'apple' which I purchased while bidding on an online auction. Problem - I get it to turn on but nothing else - no sound, etc. My sole purpose for making the purchase...

Hi there,
Please make sure that there are music files stored on your ipod and there are games (apps) that can be played on it.
You would have to put music files in the ipod so it can play it back and the Apps (games) would have to be downloaded from the app store.
One more thing you would like to check is if the ipod has been unlocked.
Hope this helps!

When I plug my iPhone into the USB it doesn't

ANSWER: The headphone jack will not charge your iPod. Only the USB will charge your iPod. However, the headphone jack will play music, but the USB will not play music from your iPod.
REASON: The headphone jack does not provide any power to charge your iPod. It isnly has enough power to recieve a music signal.
REASON WHY YOU CANNOT PLAY IPOD THROUGH THE USB: The USB is only intended to be used with a flash drive or external hard drive with a folder structure containing either .mp3 or .wma files. The way the USB works on the system is that it reads all the files and folders on the entire device and will say "reading" until it reads all the files and folders. This should only take a few seconds but if there is tons of files it may take longer. Main problem: An iPod contains much more than just music files and folders - it contains an entire operating system. Worse, the operating system which the iPod uses is protected, keeping other devices except for iTunes from reading the music files.
TO PLAY MUSIC FROM USB (NOT IPOD): You will need to use a flash drive or external hard drive with your USB. This device can only contain music, and the music must be organized into folders. Your iPod will not work. However, you can use Auxiliary input using a cable which both ends are 1/4" headphone jacks, one end going to the iPod and other plugged into your stereo.
SOLUTION: To charge your iPod, you need to plug it into USB. However, to play music, you need to plug your iPod into the headphone jack.
Good Luck! - Chris Proia
