After 600 lamp hours, my lamp started going dim and now doesn't come on. When I turn on the projector, the green light flashes for 30 seconds or so and then turns orange and the lamp light flashes red. I can't determine if it is the lamp or the iris issue based on searches. I replaced the lamp 4 months ago.

I have the same problem. It seems we have to reset the counter. This reset must be done via the beamer itself and not via remote control, since lamp is not working...

SOURCE: I seem to have the dynamic iris problem but the lubrication didn't help

You ask the seller, because the product is for them, they know how to deal with the problem. You can also read the instruction.

Lamp doesn't turn on

BenQ warrants their lamps at 500 hours...I had one go at 420 hours for my projectors, had to contact the company for a return number and pay to ship the entire unit back to them, then they sent me my unit back with a new bulb installed. Process took about a month.

Epson PowerLite 410W projector (used for a smart board in a classroom) won't project anything or even turn on. Power button (maybe lamp indicator light? I don't really know anything about this...)...

It seems you assume that it is not an overheating problem.
The problem is, the bulb gets really, really hot when using the projector. It doesn't matter whether it has been there without any usage. As you switch it on, it will start to get hot.
But the lamp or other parts of the projector should not get too hot. To control the temperature, air is moved through the projector with the help of fans. Air enters through air filters and move through the projector absorbing heat from hot parts. This prevents these parts from getting overheated.
But what if air doesn't flow freely? Then the parts CAN get overheated.
First, switch on the projector and check whether you can hear the fans working.
Next, switch off the projector and remove power cable.
After about 30 minutes, remove the cover and check whether the air filters are blocked. If they are, clean them with a small brush.
This would probably solve your problem.

Hi I have a Sanyo PLC-XP18 projector and it has recently developed a problem. I was watching a film the other night and the projector just cut out. Now when i try and turn the projector on the the fans...

READY light is green when the projector is ready to be switched on
LAMP is dim when the projector is ON, but goes bright when it reverts to STANDBY.

Check that the lamp cover is fully down and the cover switch is activated

No lamp and a flashing red status light

The lamp has run out of its operating hours which is normally 3000 hrs. Replace the lamp and you will be alright.

No light come on from the projector

Thats the projector telling you that you need to replace the lamp. Lamps usually lasts for about 2000 hours so if you had it for a while you may need to replace it.

www.froogle.com and enter your make and model or go to www.projectorcentral.com and find a few retailers in the US that sells lamps.

good luck

red light indicates lamp is expired. even though you get temporary light, the lamp is shot. Try BULBMAN.COM for a new lamp.

Won't turn on, only flashes red light

Probably the filter is blocked. Unplug the power lead at the back and leave for about 30 seconds. Plug back in and it should work. The first opportunity you get, buy some compressed air and give it a good clean.
