I'm having the same issue with the same router and printer (mine is CLP-300/XXA).
At first when I try t print a pdf file or an image or any text/word document file with pictures/images I get an SPL-C error.
I have upgraded the firmware and it worked great on my laptop! Then, I tried to install the printer driver on my desktop, but now none of them work correctly.
Still not solved, but here are some suggestions:
1. Try to upgrade the firmware.
2. Try to install the original samsung printer driver 3.0.1
3. If it didn't work try to install the updated driver 3.0.4
4. If it didn't work try to install the Universal Printer Driver
5. IMPORTANT: between uninstalling and installing driver, disconnect both printer and router A/C power adapter and try to reboot you PC after removing the previous driver!
I'm going to work on it and see if it works. The DD-WRT firmware solved the exact same problem on my previous RT-N13U router, but unfortunately DD-WRT doesn't support RT-N56U yet!
Note: I called ASUS and they told me that Samsung printers are not supported for printer sharing server :(
