I have a Fedders dehumidifier Model A7DH45B2A REV-A. The nipple on the float broke off. Where can I buy a float? Do you have one? How much is it?

Although Fedders, as you knew it is no longer in business, some parts are still available.

Here is a link, with an explodes view of your model's parts.Locate th epart you need and then enter the part number, to see if it's still available. FYI Maytag Dehumidifier parts are interchangeable with Fedders. Fedders made the units for Maytag.

I hope this helps you find what you need.

The float is broken

If all you need is the Styrofoam float, you're in business, If it's the entire float arm you're not so lucky.

Where can I buy a new float assembly?

Unfortunately, the entire float assembly (Part # CRCDFD5404-010) is no longer available and their are no interchangeable substitutions. In lieu of that, if you can hook it up to a hose for continual drainage, you wont need the float assembly.

Hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.

The float switch where it pivots wore out i would like to buy a replacement tray if possible

I think what you're looking for is the bucket or tank assembly that has the float valve in it, rather than the tray. In any event, there are not many parts still available for this unit, as it has been discontinued by Fedders. However, they did make the identical unit for Maytag & Whirlpool and you may be able to find interchangeable parts from them.

In the meantime, here is a link to some Fedder's parts that are still available for your model.Which may be helpful in cross referencing the Maytag & Whirlpool models.

Sears Parts Central may be another good source.

Hope this information has helped steer you in the right direction.

Where do you find replacement parts when they are discontinued? I need a regulator for my dehumidifer a7dh45b2.

Fedders also made identical dehumidifiers for Maytag. Their model numbers are almost identical, and their parts are the same. So, try finding the parts you need thru Maytag.

How to hook up a drain tube to the pan in the dehumidifer. Do I need to take out the float shutoff?

No, it is not necessary to remove the float shutoff. As water will be constantly draining from the unit, when the hose is connected.

Hope this helped you.

Dehumidifier runs but doesn't collect water also the full light won't turn off and the container is empty. Float is in it.

Hi,

Here is a tip that explains what can be happening to make the dehumidifier show that the bucket is full when it is not.

Sensor says it's full; it's not full and won't operate

Check for a sticking float arm. The float arm activates a microswitch when the tank is full. Also look for a sticking Microswitch. Here is a picture of the float arm.......follow the arm to the location of the microswitch. If neither are stuck, look for a loose wire in series with the microswitch. Hope you find this to be very helpful moving forward. :-)

The coils are freexing up. How can i fix this? fedders dehumidifier a7dh45b2a

Make sure your coils are clean and free of restrictions and that the fan is running. If this is ok, then it is probably a leak in the system resulting in low charge. Cost of new dehumidifier will be cheaper than having it repaired.
