Sadly when a playstation led starts flashing a yellow/amber color it means that there's a hardware issue that's causing your system to overheat. Sadly you only
have 3 options: Buy a new PS3, start the repair process through Sony
(which means you will receive a refurbished PS3), or repair your PS3
through a 3rd party. There's really no way to fix it yourself without advanced tools and extra repair parts and still it would void the warranty and you'd be risking further damage to your PS3 console.
The best way is to fix red light flash and goes off by yourself! Learn the PS3 fixing technique by using this product here :

With your PS3 turned off, press and hold the Power button on the front
of the PS3 for about 10 seconds (the system will beep as normal as it
starts up but after 7-10 seconds it will beep again). The video
settings should now be reverted. Doing this will also reset any theme
settings. try this? seems to fix alot of issues.
its an error. hold down the power button till it beeps once. the hold it again till it beeps twice. sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?
