My video is not working.. person cant see me

Do you mean webcam
if so which communucation app /skype/yahoo/google
Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your web cam from there
if you are have trouble with your web cam.
Click start control panel administrative tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down
image devices you could see a yellow question mark ? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver
Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right.

But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash andQuicktimesoftware are installed and up to date.
But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing.

Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c- Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

How to initialize directx 9 renderer

1. Just install the latest directX 9 @ DirectX 9.0c (Jun 10) download

2. Update your Graphic Cards drivers from the Manufacturers' site.

3. Update your PC/Laptop hardware drivers to the latest versions!

If you have done the above and still cannot cannot use the directx 9 rendering, most probably your graphic card does not support the rendering options.

Hope it helps.

Fatal error D3DPERF

This problem comes when you don't have directx installed in your PC. First un-install skype. Then download and install the latest directx. If DirectX11 don't help, then use DirectX9. get it from http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-us/aboutgfw/pages/directx.aspx. Then reinstall the skype. Your problem will go away.

Skype comes up and says my camera is not supported.

  • Extract from Skype Help
  • "Most PC-compatible webcams should work with Skype, although some older models may not. Make sure you download and install the most recent drivers for your webcam (you can get these from the webcam manufacturer’s site). Or, you can buy a webcam that’s guaranteed to work seamlessly with Skype from the Skype Shop.
  • Make sure both you and the person you are video calling are using the latest version of Skype. To check what version you have, click Help > About Skype.
  • Please check that your computer hardware configuration supports video calls – the recommended system requirements are a 1 GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, a video card with at least 16MB of memory and a 512/256kbit (down/up) broadband internet connection.
  • Check that your video device supports DirectShow 9.1 standard (WDM is currently not supported).
  • Make sure that you have the latest version of DirectX. You can download DirectX if you need it. After installing it, please go to Start > Run and type dxdiag. In the window ensure you have DirectX9.0c or higher. Sometimes the installation fails to update the version and in these cases please contact Microsoft for support."

Webcam from toshiba with msn always says it is in

Try this first. Install the Latest Version of DirectX. Before continuing with diagnostics, please make sure you are using the latest release of DirectX. You can download the latest release here. Just copy and paste into your browser.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3

Do this before downloading the newest DirectX.
1.. Unplug the camera.
2.. Uninstall the camera software using Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.
1.. Click "Start", "Settings", and "Control Panel".
2.. Double click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3.. Highlight the Logitech camera software and click the Add/Remove
button. (Change/Remove if you are using Windows XP.)
4.. Install the latest DirectX version from Microsoft.
5.. Reinstall the camera software.
Verify That the Device Has Been Loaded in the Device Manager
When Windows correctly detects the Logitech video camera it will load. 6.. Have the disk available for your webcam as you may be asked for it.

Let me know if this works for you. If not provide me with your brand and model of your webcam and operating system you are using.
