Epson Stylus photo 875DC

I just replaced a black ink cartridge in my Epson Stylus Photo 875DC printer head, even though the monitor status shows the ink level to be full it does not print in black. The test page shows all the colors except black.

I have used the printer utility to clean the head, but after several attempts to clean it I still do not get any black ink on the test page.

I have also replaced the cartridge with a brand new one and no success.

I also let the last working black ink cartridge run even after it was showing that it needed to be replaced.

If you have any suggestions, they will be very much appreciated.

The page counter cannot be set back to 0.
The ink levels on your computer is automatically checked and displayed through the Status Monitor

If any of the ink cartridges installed in the printer is broken, incompatible with the printer model, or improperly installed, EPSON Status Monitor 3 will not display an accurate calculation for the amount of ink remaining in any of the ink cartridges. Be sure to replace or reinstall any ink cartridge indicated by EPSON Status Monitor 3.

Reset Epson Color Printer Counter

Many Epson Printers that reach an End of Life counter number will lock your printer down and force you to contact a Service Center.

However, this is really not necessary in all cases. If your printer is still working fine for you but the counter has locked your printer:

Epson stylus photo R200 status monitor in Windows 7 is'nt highlighted ink is low can't tell which ones

Uninstall the current driver and Status Monitor, once uninstalled connect and power the printer on to install the Windows 7 In box driver. If that does not work then you can tell which cartridges need replacing using the printer itself. Lift the lid and press the red ink button once. The carriage will move to the left and stop by a pointer. This will point to the cartridge that needs replacing. Repeat until it is in the change and then change the indicated cartridge/s and then press again to complete the change.

I cant remove the cartridges from my epson stylus

Follow How to on epson status monitor for replacing ink tank. Or, turn on printer, immediatelly unplug power while carriage moving. Then move carriage by hand to replacement position.

Epson Stylus Photo R800 driver ran out of ink weeks ago. Today new ink cartridges arrived. Replaced all cartridges (even the ones that were ok) because the printer's low ink light would not go out until I...

His could be because epson print jets plug up. and usualy cost more to repair than to purchase new printer. i had epson and now buy HP because hp when you replace the ink cartridge the spray jets are incorporated into the cartridge the only thing you have to be carefull of is that somel manufactures now put a chip on the cartridges to expire the units so they can sell you another even if you dont use the ink HP included so look for exp. date on new units. look into food warehouses like sams. costco, Bjs etc. they usualy have good prices on printers. sunday paper is also a good place to look.

"Ink cartridges cannot be recognized" when using genuine Epson

i had this happen to me twice with two different people, it is highly possible that your black inks are defective, its also highly possible that one of the other inks are causing this error. take them all out, and put one and see what happens, do this one at a time until you see something screwey.

also possible, the contacts on the printhead are dirty or are pushed in.

also possible, bad printhead.

Epson photo 995 - black ink not printing

This is a common problem I have found with Epson printers. If you don’t use the printer on a regular basis the printer heads can clog. I have found no way to clean the heads once this occurs. I will now only purchase HP printers because the printer heads are part of the ink cartridges. With every cartridge change you get new heads, end of that problem!

Does it say you have no ink installed or just that it would rather you not use them.

If it does not even show you replaced the ink try a different supplier.

Ratt, Please uninstall all related Epson Stylus Photo 1290 softwares, drivers etc. and also clean registry by using any registry cleaner. After going through all this, restart your OS and reinstall your Stylus Photo 1290. If this doesn't solve your problems, then please try this. Steps: 1) Backup all your important document from where you've install your OS (e.g. c:\) 2) Format the drive where your OS is installed (e.g. c:\) 3) Re-install your OS in fresh. 4) After completing your OS installation, install your printer..... GOOD LUCK !!!
