I have dumped the ice, turned the ice off button on and It is still stuck. I do not think it's entirely due to ice.

I have dumped the ice that I could, turned the "ice off" button on (4 days ago now) and I cannot get the ice bucket off. It's like it's glued shut. Pressing the little release knob on the side does no good.

  • ndb2157 Jun 23, 2011

So, you can't really help me either? Is there some way to take it apart? I would hate to have to have a service technician come out and take it apart if I can do it myself

I have the same problem. Read many, many, many others have the same issue on us.community.samsung.com I posted my own complaint and they asked for my information to give me a one-time free repair. It is not that the ice maker is frozen. I completely thawed mine out. The problem is that the darn thing just won't budge. It's stuck tight and the little release lever can't be budged either.

Mine was stuck on the auger, the twist metal blade parts. Apparently if you line up the door and the bucket parts just wrong when you last REINSTALLED the bucket, the next time you go to REMOVE the bucket it will be jammed, resulting in the problem everyone seems to be asking about. I had to take off the top part of the actual ice maker, stick a crowbar down inside the bucket, and manual force the auger to turn and dislodge. The ice bucket immediately detached once I did. There were shreds of plastic from where the connected had been jammed against the sides of the compartment. I don’t know if there is a way of dislodging without blemishing the plastic, but at least I’m just grateful I didn’t break it entirely.

How did you access the "top part of the ice maker"? Any chance you could supply pictures or a quick guide?

If ice is making it stick, try sponging around the bucket with warm water, alternatively try blowing warm air from a hair-drier set to low heat around the bucket.

Hi ndb2157,

Please determine whether the ice bucket is being blocked by the ice or by the part of the icemaker is being dislodged. If it's ice blocking it, please reinsert the bucket, closing the doors, then dispense some ice to see if the auger in the bucket can move the ice out of the way so the bucket can be removed.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi ndb2157,

If pulling the release lever towards you, and then pulling the bucket outwards did not remove the ice bucket, the part of the icemaker is being dislodged. In this case, if part of the ice maker has become dislodged, I would recommend to contact 800-SAMSUNG to determine whether service will be necessary.

    Hope it helps.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Samsung french door ice maker

Check my solution here. The noisy sound is the swing arm trying to knock out some stuck ice.

Beko Fridge Freezer Ice Maker intermittent fault

I would agree with the the last poster just one final thing to check make sure the bottom of your fridge in the back of your fridge is dust free dust builds up on the condensers and they get blocks and they don't work as efficiently and also make sure there's the correct space between the back side top and bottom of the fridge according to the specifications I don't have them with me but you should have them in your user manual if you have one.

I can pull the ice bucket out about an inch then stuck..???

You have ice stuck inside where it has dispensed but it apparently did not drop all the way down to the container. Only thing you can do is shake it until everything drops, allowing the bin to be removed.

Why is ice bucket stuck?

One of 2 things happened. Your ice maker overflowed with water and now the bucket is frozen or the ice maker fell into the bucket and it's wedged. If you can get the bucket out at least a inch it's the second problem

How do I Prevent ice dispenser from freezing up? Ice is in the ice bucket but will not disperse.

The ice stays in the cubemaker tray for a set time and then empties into the bucket. If the freezer was too warm the ice wasn't frozen enough when the cube maker emptied it and it all stuck together. Now the fridge is cold again empty the bucket, make sure there is no ice stuck in the dispenser and try again. If it is a Samsung fridge do the above and turn it off for 30 seconds and back on again. Sometimes the controller and display freezes and reads the wrong temperature.

Electrolux ice maker bucket stuck

Probably the ice maker leaking caused by ice maker itself or faulty water valve. I would think you would have to let Ice thaw that's most likely holding bucket from coming out and then replace Ice Maker or water valve or both.

Fridge Freezer model KA58NP90 Ice maker problem

What is most likely your problem is the crushed ice solenoid. This solenoid, which is located next to the auger motor behind the ice bucket, is failing to actuate when you request cubed ice. Its "home" setting is crushed, and actuates to allow cubes past the crushing mechanism in the bucket. To be certain its the problem, remove the ice bucket, and tape the door light switch in the closed position. actuate the ice dispenser lever, for both cubed and crushed ice. you will see a square hole next to the rotating fork, when you select cubes, it should open. If it does open, there is something wrong with your ice bucket, perhaps the arm is broken, or the door inside bucket is off its snap in type hinge or broken altogether. If it doesnt open, replace the solenoid

Will not send ice cubes down the shoot just chopped ice and chilled water. The problem started when the freezer door was left open on the fridgeadair fridge.

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid

Icemaker not making ice

Ok no ice, so how old is the unit? Check for a tube that feeds water to the back of the fridge first.

Get a bucket, and the hose should be maybe a 1/4 inch plastic line, with a clamp of some type, take the clamp off, over the bucket and confirm you have water coming to the fridge. If so, remove the ice drawer or bucket, with a flash light look ALL over the area where the ice falls into the bucket in the fridge, many times a cube will bounce out and wedge something so the contol arm or device tells the fridge it is full when it is not. Look all over, with a LIGHT, it is very common, and very common to get charged $70.00 for a service call to do the same thing.

If either of these do not get you going write me back.
