I am adding some pictures to help with the resetting of the thermostat. It is actually much easier if you pop open the top and remove three screws on the top side of the left panel in addition to the three in the back. That way you get more room to work with.
Hope it helps.

The only thing that could cause the high limits to trip is poor airflow. make sure your duct is clean, that it is not getting crushed when the dryer is pushed back into place, and that the flapper door on the outside where the duct exits your house is not blocked. You can reset the high limits by undoing the three t-20 screws on the back of the panel. it will be the left side of the machine as you face it, the side the hinge is mounted to. UNPLUG IT!!!!. get a flashlight, and pry the bottom corner away from the machine at the back where you removed the screws. you can get enough clearance for your hand without taking the whole machine apart. look inside, and there is a big round stainless steel burner tube on the bottom. there is a black thermostat with a red button on the side of the burner. you should hear a small click when it resets as you push it. if it doesnt click, it was not tripped or it did not reset. If you continue to trip the high limit without addressing the problem, the thermostat will fail eventually. it is not designed to be tripped on a regular basis. you may need to call out a dryer duct cleaning service if your duct is long or really dirty.
