My Wave Ceptor also reset to 01/01/05 four days ago. I've had it for more than a year and this is the first time it's happened. It hasn't reset with automatic updates and I can't get it to manually update.
Choose relevant application under the SUPPORT. Here you can find Technical Support, Casio Parts etc. Choose your nearest region and ask to supply new watch band.
I had the same problem this week and after downloading and reading the operation guide, I found the "adjusting the home positions" procedure in page 2, I followed the instructions and now my Casio 4303 is up and running, I got the operation guide from: http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/wat/en/qw4303.pdf (thanks to jeffw284 for the information).
