I have a Paramax projector that keeps turning off, so I guess the lamp counter needs to be reset. Problem is the manual is no help, the company won't respond to emails. There doesn't appear to be a counter display in the limited menu. Is there a combination of buttons that needs to be pressed to do this?

I don't think its overheating because it happens after being on 10 minutes then turns back on after 2 minutes then shuts off again, it continues this over and over. Everything is clean and there is plenty of air flow, its suspended from the wall.

Try cleaning or replacing the air filters, the unit may be overheating!

Look for bulging or leaking electrolytic capacitors in the power supply section.
This is a common problem, mostly affecting flat panel monitors ant TVs but is appearing more and more in things like projectors, amplifiers, computer power supplies and PC motherboards.

I checked all throughout the curcuits and couldn't find anything that appeared to be leaking or bulging. I'm thinking it could be the lamplife hours, at least if I could reset it I could rule that out.

I need to reset my lamp counter on my projector pt-lc56e but i dont know how please help me

After changing the lamp you should be able to turn on the projector and it should run for approx. 10 minutes, allowing enough time to reset the lamp counter. Hit "Menu", select "Option 2", hit enter, which will bring up "Lamp Runtime", press and hold enter button approx. 3 seconds. The selection will change to "Time Reset (Power Off)". Turn off the power and it will reset.

Panasonic PTAE 900U with new lamp and counter reset shut off

Reseat the lamp.  I had a similar problem.  Replaced the lamp and everything worked for about 3 hours.  Then, turned the projector off.  Next morning, when I turned it on, nothing.  Stanby/On light flashed green for a minute then the lamp light came on and the projector went into standby.

Infocus Lp240 Projector Will not power on NEW BULB. Red light Blinks on and off.

The owner's manual should have a troubleshooting chart that will indicate what the blinking lights mean. If the new bulb did not clear it, the problem may be the ballast (part that starts the bulb). Also, when you replaced the lamp, you should also reset the lamp timer. Some units will continue to indicate a lamp needing replacement until the counter is reset. The procedure for that should also be in the manual.

Keep us posted.

Reset Timer Lamp Sony VPL-HS60 projector

To reset the lamp timer:
1) With the projector plugged in and turned off, press the 'ON/STANDBY' button to put the projector in 'STANDBY' mode. NOTE: You have to press the button on the projector itself, you cannot use the remote for this step (this is not clear in manual).
2) Now, using the remote, press the following keys in order: RESET, <--, -->, ENTER.
3) Timer should now read '0'.
