Typically it would take 6 hours to charge the battery but for the first time charge its better to charge it a little longer. 8 to 10 hours would be good.

American charger useless and no solutions on the Fisher Price web page so.... I purchased a Tenergy universal smart charger for 7.2 - 12 V NiMh/NiCd packs. It has alligator clips that can connect to the battery. Has a temperature probe for safety. Works a treat and charges him for great play time. All the kids watch spike in action now. Hope this helps.

I bought this dinasour used and it started to stop and we would press the red buton and it would start again, and repeat over and over,while the amount of time in between got lesser, until it did not work. I charged the battery with a brand new charger and at first it worked fine for a while and then it did the same thing? Does anyone know what this could be? The battery itself? Has anyone had this problem? How long is the dinasour supposed to hold the charge?
