Replace the CR1220 date battery by following the instructions in the "Replacing the Date Battery" section of the manual (page 191 in my copy). If you need the manual, you can download one at

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
To set the Date and Time, follow the instructions on page13 in the User Gide. To set the camera to put date/time stamps on the photos, see instructions on pages 22-23.

The backup battery needs to be replaced. This small button battery (CR1220) provides the power for your camera to 'remember' settings when you change or remove the AA batteries. Instructions for changing this battery are in the manual on page 191 (US version of manual).
