My wife took the vacuum apart and now the shampooer just spills out solution instead of making foam. She later found a small screen but doesn't remember where it goes. Could you send me a manual that shows all the parts as they are assembled?

  • Kirby Ultimate G Diamond vacuum cleaner

This is unused shampoo attachment. We buy new parts and assemble this shampoo attachment so you will be the first one to use it.
Set includes:
  1. Tray with shield
  2. Nozzle
  3. Brush roll
  4. Belt
  5. Container with cap
  6. Hose
  7. 12 oz. shampoo
NOTE - pictured Kirby Sentria shampooer box may not be included.
If you have never used this shampoo, we highly recommend reading our ONLINE MANUAL. This is a simple but very effective unit but you have to learn how to use it and "common sense" will not be enough! HOW TO - V I D E O S

Tank with soapy solution is attached in place of the bag. It utilizes the air coming out of the exhaust to blow soapy water on a small screen that turns it into thick foam. The foam is simply laid over the carpet (you must vacuum before you shampoo). Foam allows the spread of a small amount of water over the area so carpet is not soaked all the way through. Foam is left on the carpet for a few minutes so it has just enough time to moisten the fibers of the carpet and loosen the dirt (not too long otherwise foam may dry). Then foam maker is set to "OFF" and you slowly pull Kirby vacuum over the area where you laid the foam. The rotating brush in the shampooer nozzle rubs the moisture off carpet fibers and and throws it into the tray in front of the unit. You will not see gallons of dirty water but that is because you did not put it on the rug in the first place. Carpet should dry within 1-4 hours (depends how many times you laid the foam and what is humidity in the room). After it dries it has to be vacuumed. Solution that did not get picked up with the shampooer brush dries and shampoo additives do not let the dirt stick back to the fibers of the carpet. It is loose when it dries so in order to pick up what is left, you must vacuum again.
Shampoo:
You can use any carpet shampoo sold in your local store but make sure that this is carpet shampoo that makes foam and pay attention how much you have to dilute it with water as various shampoo products come in different concentration. Avoid using "just anything" that makes foam. Some household chemicals (such as dishwasher fluid) will do great job but it will leave carpet unprotected so dirt will stick to it so well that you will have a filthy rug in no time. There is no foam in the hose as I run the kirby shampooer. What could the problem be?

Check out the manual HERE.
It may be clogged valve on the solution tank.
Very dirty or clogged sponge (shampooer tank)
Very dirty or clogged screen(shampooer tank where hose is connected)
It is pretty common that that small screen comes out and stays in the hose elbow.

It's been awhile since I have used my shampoo system on my Ultimate G series Kirby. Well, as instructed I took it apart and cleaned it. Now I can?t figure out where to put the ?screen cap? and ?sponge...

Hello,
The littlew round screen goes in the hole where the hose attaches to the tank. The round foam filter goes up in the hole underneath the on/off valve for the foam. Here is a guide if you need any more help...

Sudser not working right

You may be missing the little foam cap that goes on the tank end of the hose from tray. It's about the size of a quarter, and gray in color.Should be able to pick that up from any vacuum shop,or directly from Kirby.Jus ask for the shampooer foam screen.

Kirby shampooer

On the shampooer tank, remove the screen cap from the little hole that the shampooer hose plugs onto. Clean the screen and make sure that it is not plugged up with debris. Make sure that the screen is securely glued to the cap all the way around the edge. (they sometimes come loose and this will cause the absence of foam) That little (approx. 1 inch diameter) screen is the main ingredient for the foam. The screened cap should fit firmly onto the outside of the little hole in the bottom of the edge of the tank.
If none of this helps, remove the round sponge and look at the holes in the white plastic circle. Turn the on/off foam valve and make sure that the holes open up when the valve is turned to "on". You can purchase and replace the on/off valve if it turns out to be the problem. You can also buy a replacement tank if you're not inclined to mess with it.

Your shampooer is not broken. (sorry Fanny)

You are missing a wee screen that fits on the hole where the little hose plugs into the tank. Check inside the hose end or down inside your shampooer box. Here's a link to my online Kirby shampooer instructions...

You are missing the wee round suds screen that fits over the small hole on the tank where the hose fits on. Without this screen it will not make foam.

Kirby Ultimate G carpet shampooer not producing foam anymore

I was having the same problem. There is a filter plug that came loose on mine and went down into the hose. It belong on the water tank and fits in there tightly and the hose end goes over it. That's what actually makes the foam.
