Philips 50P8341 green light

Hi,
Thanks for your response when i turn on the tv i get a quick red and blue line for 2 seconds and then disappears and then the green light appears and stays there for as long as i have the tv on like a bow facing down the line is not in the middle it is coming from the upper part of the screen and going down about 6 inches and the in goes back to the top of the screen forming a bow like shape

some other tech at fixya have told me to Check fuses 1800 and 1801. Also check diodes 6809 and 6810 If there is High Voltage then replace Diode 6003 and Resistor 3669 when replacing the above parts also replace Diode 6012 and Diode 6025 they also tell me it is a defective vertical output
please let me know what you think
Thank you for your time

I believe its the vertical output IC. Diodes would tend to blow fuses . I would replace the vertical output and see if that takes care of the problem.

4. If the screen still appears too bright after proper G-2 adjustment, you need to adjust the sub-bright adjustment in the service menu
control down until screen cut-off. (Service data Range is usually 21 to 25 in the Service menu, for Sony sets you first go to category "MCP2", & then adjustment item 01( "SBRT")= subright.
For electrical the focus, put on the screen a clear picture of your choice thru an input of the TV set from a DVD, then pause the playback of the DVD Look into each color and rock that color focus control back and forth (turn the control one way then the other way slowing down as the picture goes into the best focus. till the picture looks sharp do each color till they all look in focus. NOTE: it is best to look into each color tube to achieve the best electrical focus. For optical focus please follow the manual lens adjustment in the sets service manual

Problem with tv 50p8341 might have found the solution

The green line across the TV if its in the middle is usually loss of vertical deflection so that can shut the tubes down for protective purposes. Check the vertical output IC thats what is most likely causing the problem. The flyback is working if theres a green line across the middle of the screen.

Philips 50P8341 50 in. Rear Projection Television

Sounds like the blue convergence IC s bad. They are relatively easy to replace if you can solder they cost around 10.00 each and you should change both the red and the blue.

Philips 50P8341 50 in. Rear Projection Television most of the color is red

Usually if you remove the speaker grill in front there is a convergence panel that can be carefully removed. If you look inside you should see a small rectangular block with six controls. They are labelled focus and screen, and red, blue and green. Adjust only the screen controls very carefully and slowly. I would recommend reducing the red slightly brfore raising the green and then blue until the picture looks acceptable. Be sure to center the on screen controls before starting.
