The most important kitchen knives are the paring knife, the cleaver, the fileting knife and the chef's knife. This is an error with the upper knife assembly. Take of the upper cover on the roll drawer. There is a round green belt that drives the circular cutter left and right. Ensure that is not broken. Remove any paper shards from the knife area and see if the 2 sensors on each side of the extents of travel on the knife are still solidly mounted. Ensure there are tires (o-rings x 7) on the cutter assembly.

The battery is actually accessed from the front of the watch.
You should have a "Case Knife" to remove the front bezel.
Remove the band first.
Set the watch in its side. Set the case knife at the groove where the watch band holder meets the front bezel, and give the back of the knife a sharp rap with a small hammer. The front bezel should pop off.
Some watches have a small circular plastic piece that will also come out. Gently remove the movement from the front. The battery (CR 2025) can then be removed from the back of the movement using a small, thin blade. Install the new battery. The inside back of the case should have restart instructions. (Push A -left button once. then push and hold A until hands move to 12:00. Push B once to start reception.
The back of the watch is plastic. Don't try to remove it.
Gently re-assemble movemengt. A watch case press tool is best for finishing assembly. I would suggest taking the watch to a jeweler if you are uncomfortable taking this watch apart. Good luck

ADJUSTING KNIVES

To check and adjust the knives, proceed as follows:
1. DISCONNECT THE TOOL FROM THE POWER SOURCE.

2. Lower the head assembly by turning handle

3. Remove chip deflector

4. Carefully place knife setting gage, on the cutterhead so the rounded sections are directly over the knife as shown. When adjusted correctly, the knife should just contact the bottom of the center portion at each end of gage. Check the other knife in the same manner.

5. If an adjustment to one or both knives is necessary, slightly loosen the seven locking screws, by turning the screws CLOCKWISE into the knife locking bar just enough to relieve stress in the cutterhead and not disturb the knife setting.

6. With setting gage, in place, apply pressure to the knife being reset. Turn the seven knife locking screws, CLOCKWISE until the knife locking bar becomes loose. Lift springs will automatically raise the knife until it comes in contact with gage. Snug the knife locking bar by lightly turning the seven locking screws, COUNTERCLOCKWISE.

IMPORTANT: AT THIS TIME, ONLY TIGHTEN THE KNIFE LOCKING BAR JUST ENOUGH TO HOLD THE KNIFE IN POSITON INSIDE THE CUTTERHEAD SLOT.

7. If the other knife needs adjustment, repeat STEP 6.

8. After both knives are positioned in the cutterhead, turn each of the seven screws, COUNTERCLOCKWISE until the knife is secure in the cutterhead. NOTE: When tightening knife locking screws, tighten the end screws first, then inward toward the center of the cutterhead.

9. Replace chip deflector.

NOW, DISCONNECT THE MANUAL OR ELECTRIC( MINE'S ELEC.)CONTROL, AND UNSCREW FROM INSIDE WHILE HOLDING MIRROR ON OUTSIDE( SEVEN YEARS BAD LUCK, KLUTZ!)CAUTION!!RE-ASSEMBLY IS TRICKY: DO ALL THIS ^^^ IN REVERSE:)

Raise the top of the machine. Insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base. Raise the top of the machine.. (See page 33 of the Service Manual for putty knife insertion point).
