SOURCE: Remove and check color cartridge
the problem is the little poorly designed metal thing that is holding up the ink cartridge get's stuck between the cartridge and the printed circuit and it brakes the circuit.must have been some **** drawering on a napkin that came up with that one.wasted a nice unit for that two cent piece of metal.

If you already changed the cartridges for new ones, there should be a problem with the printer's carriage.
You need to take it to a repair store, but I advice you to buy a new one, because the price you will pay for the repair should be the same or more than what you pay for a new printer.

Buy a new HP cartridge, 3rd party cartidges for HP machines have substantially lower reliability
I have an HP Photsmart C4100 printer. I purchased remanufactured ink cartridges (both black and tri-colored) from Vivasmart. The black one works fine, but when I installed the tri-color, I got an error message that says "Print cartridge problem" The following print cartridge has a problem:
Tri-color. And I can't print. The screen on my printer says "Remove and check color cartridge." I have done this several times and it still won't print. I have turned off the power, removed the cartridges, and unplugged the unit, but it still didn't help. Any suggestions?
