SOURCE: High Ringing Noise

Sounds like it just needs lubricating. It's probably dry seals rubbing against the stainless shaft.

Bad bearings usually make grinding noises. Replacing bearings can be a DIY job, but not a teriffically simple one.

SOURCE: where can I get a guide for rebuilding my ao smith

You won't find one and rebuilding a motor of that nature would be a waste. For starters, once they fail to the point you notice they need atention it is usually to late. Parts are not going to be available and the cost of the replacement is so low it just doesn't make sense to try. A replacement motor is only about $130. If you would like a formal quote or to order one, contact us at www.arrowmotor.net and include the model number (326p203) in your message.

Wiring a 230/115 1 hp 56y pool pump motor

please verify the name plate to be 115 230 volt motor.there will be a schematic that shows you exactly how to hook up this motor depending on the voltage being supplied to it. The main thing is switching between 115 and 230 volts this is a selector switch this very easily forgotten about. Please make sure to check that and double check that to make sure its on the proper selected switch. Good luck

Am I able to step this motor down to 115 ? Plate specifies 230V.only

it depends on how many motor wires you have available to work with .. IF the name plate says 220 volts , not 120 / 220 volts , then no. If there are only 2 wires for the motor, then NO

thoughts?
