The last EXPERT ya right, didn't even read what I wrote what a knot head ! The problem I have is when I turn on the camera the screen shows Err.This what I tried I installed a different battery and a different card. This didn't change anything. As I stated to the first " expert " the camera is not overheated unless it take more than 2 day for it to cool off. Thanks Dale

Expert #1 told me to do all of the things I told him I had already done. Expert #2 told me to be sure that the lens was properly attached , the lens is not removable. Now its your turn. I have a Dimage A2 camera, when I turn on the camera I get a ERR message.I get this message every time I turn on the camera. It will take video but no stills. This is what I have tried #1 different battery, #2 different card, the camera is not overheated as it has now been turned off for about 10 hours.Hope you have the answer. Thanks Dale

Hi,

I am sorry to hear regarding the trouble. This is a common problem on these models and we have discussed this many times in most of the forums. I am sorry to convey, that ' overheating ' is not an issue with this error, though you are following what's written in the manual. This Error has been reported many times even though there is no overheating problem. This is a problem with firmware and needs the camera to be re loaded with the firmware. It's bad to comment that the manufacturer is aware of this problem and still there is no recall. If you call the manufacturer, they would ask you to send them the camera, and reload the firmware and send it to you, without informing the customer's that what exactly they have changed. If you google ' Konica Minolta A2 Err ' , you would see bunches of web pages describing the problem.I am sorry, however there is no easy fix or small fix for firmware issue's. I would advise you to contact the manufacturer and get this straightened out.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Camera Only Shows "Err" on Screen:
1. Press the camera's "Power" button to turn it off. The "Err" message will disappear from the screen while the camera is off.
2. Place the camera in a cool location, out of direct sunlight, for at least 30 minutes. Leave the camera off during this time period.
3. Press the camera's "Power" button to turn it back on. If the "Err" message does not show up again, the camera was simply overheated.
4. Turn off the camera, open the battery door and remove the battery from the camera. Plug the power cord into the camera and turn it on again to see if the error message appears again.
5. Replace the power cord if the message shows up while it is plugged in. Replace only the battery if the message does not display with the battery removed and the power cord plugged in

Minolta Dimage S414, when turned on a message shows 'ERR' on display. Chrged batteries, different CF memory cards tried.

Unfortunately, I never see or have experiment wiht this problem.
I want ask to you.
Have you try to recharge the battery?
What error message do you find?
If you have still with the same problem, try to change CF or not use CF?
If You use other CF than the camera have still same problem, i think you have trouble with your CF slot. And if this the problem, you can clean or brush your card slot. But if it's still not solve you problem, I don't know exactly what cause your problem.

What OS does the DiMAGE A2 support?

It's immaterial as the supplied software is poorly executed and completely unnecessary.
Just use whatever photo album software and editing package you're happy with and transfer the images from the camera using a cheap and readily available CF card reader. You'll also find that this results in far quicker uploads to your Mac/pc as well.

Is it possible to use the transformer when using DiMAGE A2 abroad?

The use of electronic transformers or travel adapters with this model via AC adapter or with the battery charger may cause damage to the product. Under these circumstances, we would recommend using the AC Cord which matches with voltage level of the country.
