How to hook up a denon avr -1706 receiver To a lg smart tv

If you are tuning in TV stations with the TV set, you will need either an optical or a coaxial audio cable to go from the digital audio out of the TV to a digital audio in on the receiver. This setup should give you 5.1 Dolby digital sound. You can also use a pair of red and white rca cables, but you will only have 2 channel sound. You may need to set the TV to output the audio to external speakers. You will need to set the receiver to the input the TV audio is connected to.

If you want to watch Sat or Cable, you probably need a couple of HDMI cables. One HDMI cable will go from the output of the Sat/Cable box to the appropriate HDMI input on the receiver. The second HDMI cable will go from the Monitor Out on the receiver to an HDMI Input on the TV. You may need to set the receiver to output HDMI audio from the receiver, and not the TV. You will need to set the TV to the HDMI Input you connected to on the TV. You will also need to set the receiver to the input the Sat/Cable box is connected to.

Details of both of these setups should be covered in the receiver and the TV manuals. Refer to them for the detailed connections and settings you need to make.

Good Luck!

I have a 42 in LG HDTV and a dish satellite and a LG surround sound system how to I hook these up to hear sound while watching the sat

See if your satellite receiver has a digital out socket in the back ( optic / coaxial ). If so get yourself an optic/coaxial cable and link the TV out to your LG Home Theaters optic/coaxial In.
Now if your Satellite receiver does not have a digital out for sound you will have to connect the TV's audio out to the LG Home Theater Systems Aux / SAT / CBL input using appropriate cables .Either 3.5mm phono to 2RCA or 2 RCA to 2 RCA cables.

I programmed a phillips tv with the dish remote control and now it does not work with the dish receiver. help!

Hello, Matt with DISH Network here. Make sure the remote is in satellite mode by pressing the "SAT" button one time in the top left of the remote. If the remote is still not working, open the door on the front of the receiver and press the "System Info" button one time. When system info is on your screen, on the remote press the "SAT" button one time, and then press the "record" button three times. Try pressing select on your remote an it ideally should be working. Hope this helps.

Cannot get internet from router to

If I understand correctly you want to use the router as a gateway for an sat. receiver.
This Netgear router can be connected to devices that has TCP/IP connections (RJ45) ports or wireless IEEE 803.11 b/g, and that can get the IP address statically or from DHCP (router). Toshiba can do that and therefore it is working fine. If sat.receiver is not device that can behave as a PC (processor etc.) it can not get IP address and router can not "see" that device, therefore router can not let "something invisible" to connect to the internet.

TV ''Dish'' not working on second TV

check sat in cable, if cracks or breaks in line can cause sfss. also on back of receiver you want to make sure that sat in cable has a little copper wire sticking straight up and that its getting a good connection on the back of the receiver.

Connecting PVR and satellite receiver

make sure you have a connection from one of your scart sockets (assuming you are using scart) on your sat to your pvr and then a connection (scart/hdmi?) to your tv from the pvr.

if you have a second scart or better still hdmi on your sat then plug that into tv

set top box scart output to tv

you do not say which tv model number you have so I dont know what input sockets you have but I will assume a couple of scart inputs and maybe a hdmi in (if hd version of tv) these days that would be considered a minimum amout of inputs so the setup suggestion above should be fine with that
