How to use in-built web cam on HP Pavilion dv60000?

go www8.hp.com and download the driver for your web cam or
installing from software coming from the laptop HP.

Is your WEB cam driver is properly install?
to check it go to your device manager and see if the cam is properly updated. if not then you can get the driver for it from HP website.
if you don't have web cam application tehn you can download youcam software from the net.

Go to the HP support site and look for the webcam drivers for your specified laptop.

Go to Device manager and disable it.

i have a touch screen HP with the web cam built in but it keeps saying web cam no connected which is weird cuz its bulit in the computer

You can use the pre-installed software like YouCam or something. Or use a chat software like Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, Google Talk or Live Messenger for video chatting. You can't take pics and vids there.

This is known Webcam issue in DV6000 notebooks. To resolve or narrow down the issue, we have to check few things.

First open Device Manager.

Please follow these steps to open Device Manager:

1. Right Click on 'My Computer' icon on Desktop and choose Properties.
2. The System properties Window opens.
3. Click Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button.

Expand + Imagining Devices and check if the HP Webcam is listed under it.

If Webcam is not listed there, then you have to contact HP to get the BIOS update.

If it is listed there, right click on it and select Disable. Again right click on it and select Enable.

Now open any applications like Quickplay and check if Webcam is working or not.

There should be an icon on your desktop for the webcam, if not try checking in your device manager to see if it is enabled..go to control panel>system>hardware>device manager It should be under the imaging devices.

built in webcam? if not check your usb plug in mite be dirty or loose
