Water pumps, can not work for a couple reasons, as long as you hear the motor still attempting to work. One is and most common, is vapor lock as you said, you attempted to fix that issue, as long as you feel comfortable there is no air trapped, then other common problem that fails is the diaphragm is stuck or warn out, that is the part that allows water to pump through, with out air getting in. Try turning pump upside down, after turning off of course, shake lightly, and plug back in a couple times short, meaning just plug in for a sec, then un plug, do this a couple times, sometime if stuck diaphragm, this might un stick it. let me know, i am sure it is one of those two issues. Ok then check where pump is plugged in to make sure breaker has not tripped. Next I would guess there is a reset button on pump. Look to see if this is so. I wouldent think pump is burnt out instantly.

Is there a reset button on these? My pump is on but not working. Not a mechanic. changed filter then it stopped working after working a little. Just a quiet hum now and it turns itself off. Said the words that would make both parents' ears alert: "I could probably fix it if I took it apart,: and I'm avoiding anything like that.

Feul pump

Sounds like vapor lock. Leave the cap from the gas lid undone for a little while.

OK. Nothing to do with water pump.
Recommend checking your IAC (Idle Air Control) circuit. This allows air to bypass the throttle body while idling, at stop sign, etc.

RCA Model: RLC3257B just stopped working

I had the same exact problem. The tv had not worked in months. I tested the capacitors by slightly charging them with an ohmmeter and they all tested fine. When I plugged the tv back in, it began working perfectly. It turns out it had been plugged into an outlet that was poorly grounded. I am not sure why the charging of the capacitors rectified the problem but its a cheap fix

I have a maytag neptune washer and I keep getting code "nd". I Checked drain and I. Can hear pump coming on but no water comes out

Hi, the nd code means (no-drain) at the end of the cycle. I repair mine by opening the door of the machine when it was still full of water. I took the back panel off the washer and disconnected the drain hose from the pump. (You're going to get quite a bit of water gushing out at you so be prepared with towels or a shop vac.) At this point you should see a little rubber disc over the end of the section you just exposed on the pump. This is a little drain flap. Just lift it up and you should be able to see into the pump a little bit. At this point I poked around in there with my finger and found a hair pin stuck in the pump! I wasn't able to get it out from this end of the pump so I disconnected the big rubber boot which connects the wash drum to the pump. Then I was able to twist the pump (counter clock-wise) and release it from the washer base. I didn't have to disconnect any wires and was then able to see into the other side of the pump and pull the hairpin out. Put everything back together and it's worked fine ever since.

On my 911 C2 I have trouble putting gas in while filling up, the pump keeps shutting off, no matter what I do. So frustrating.

I had this same problem with my Land Rover Discovery. The gas pump shuts off when gas covers a small tube in the tip of the pump handle which triggers the shut off mechanism. If the gas is extra foamy one day it can trigger this mechanism. With my Land Rover, there was a bend in the filler hose just past where the tube would sit when I was filling it up with gas. This would cause some splashing near the tip of the pump handle shutting off the pump. I was able to pull the pump tip out a little bit so that it wasn't inserted all the way into the filler, that way it wasn't as close to the bend in the hose and the splashing didn't affect the shut off mechanism. When I did this I could walk away and let the pump fill the tank all the way. This could be the same problem you're having. Try pulling the handle out a little bit and see if that helps.

Good Luck!

Can't pump gas in my tank went to 3 drifferernt gas stations due to senors that wasn't it.. hose down no blocking found... some one said air can't exit try to get that out but no money to pay...

Sometimes that little metal flap that was covering the hole where you put the gas can break and fall in. causes a blockage. Another thing, i used to have a Buick Regal that i had to hold the gas nozzle hard to one side and pump really slowly to get gas in. If all else fails, get a 5 gallon plastic gas can, fill that up, then poor it down your car gas tank. Alot of work, but its cheap.
