Need refrigerator door for Dometic RM7732. Bottom hinge is broken...i.e. and the end of the plastic molding on the bottom of the door..wood panel look.. Looking for salvage door. Does anyone have one?

I suggest you contact your local Yahoo freecycle group and place a request for the item you need. I understand there are other but similar sites that you could try.

I understand social networking sites can also be helpful in such matters.

These days old fridges can't be just dumped and they must be disposed of at official recycling centres. You might find what you are seeking at one or these.

Screws into thin metal or plastic rarely work. The fact the thing broke in the first place is testament to a design not fit for the purpose. It is possible with modern materials and a degree of old-fashioned cunning to make good repairs of such things.

I have recently repaired a pedestal fan with a similar design fault - top heavy design supported by thin plastic that soon grew tired and broke. I glued the parts together with an epoxy resin and then using a thin card template cut and shaped two aluminium reinforcers that I also glued into place using epoxy.

There must be a dozen sorts of filler and bonding filler available, thin metals that are strong but easily cut and shaped, some fantastic adhesives and a wide variety of methods.
One guy I know broke a plastic part on his car. He asked me to drill a series of holes each side of the break and sew it together with thin wire. Once it had been prepared, filled and painted it was as strong as it needed to be.

All these things need is a bit of knowledge and experience and a devious mind...
Good luck!

My Hoover Linx handle broke.

Not sure what you mean by a broken handle, but if you mean the plastic is cracking where the handle connects to the main body than I have a suggestion. We have had this happen a couple times and I tried various fixes that did not work. However, recently I found a cheap product that will strength the handle to make it stronger than new. It called Fiber Fix tape (its on Amazon). Wet the tape and wrap the handle. It is a quick set epoxy in a fiberglass like cloth. Dries very hard. Not pretty, but it works great.

How to replace a door handle on a 2007 hyundai sonata,

our question is vague. If you must replace the exterior handle only, Point 7 in Prakash's excellent answer is enough.
Tip: to repair a broken exterior handle: fill both sides of the broken handle with metal reinforced epoxy like KwikWeld, then push nails (heads clipped off, 4 or 5 cm long, 1.5 or 2 mm diameter) into the small part (over half the length of the nails will stick out), then put the handle back together and wait. The nails will reinforce the epoxy and you'll have several cm of metal totally filling up the handle where it is broken.

Broken plastic window crank handle on Geo Trakcer 1994

get a toyota handle its plastic but its stronger, the metal handle is going to be hard to interchange, the best thing to do is remove your handle and go to a junk yard and see which handles are the same, you can even put your handle on and see if it works on that car, hope this helps.

The latch/lock on back door of Mitsubishi Montero SR doesn't work

Open the rear tailgate from the inside. Now open the door to the toolkit that is usually mounted on the tailgate/rear door. Using a large Phillips screw driver[usually a #3 tip], take the tool kit off the door panel by unscrewing/removing the screws holding it to the door itself. Once you have removed the tool kit, use a knife to carefully cut a "U" shaped access flap in the clear plastic sheet that should have been behind your tool kit. This sheet is called a water shedder or water curtain, it keeps water off the back of any door panel trim to prolong its life. You want to cut that U shaped hole in the sheet where the door sheet metal already has a hole from the factory. This will allow you to peek up inside your door and see how much of the rear door handle broke on you.
You should be able to easily see the guts of the rear latch and the release handle from this vantage point. Try to move the handle on the outside of the door. If any linkage or plastic 'arms' broken during your winter, you'll probably see this as well. Hopefully new parts are available, otherwise, you'll need to access a used Montero in a salvage yard to get good working parts as a repair. While you're in the door, lube ALL latch, cable, handle parts with a light oil to help prevent this from happen[the oil or a light grease will help displace any future water or ice from sticking to any latch parts]
You can easily tape the U shaped cover you made of the plastic sheeting back up into place with some decent tape, like Duct tape or packing tape. Masking Tape will work, but falls apart in a car with age. Clear plastic Packing tape works well and is transparent to boot. Good Luck with the door.

Broken part

Gennerally no. Most mounts are now made in Asia and there is no parts support. I and and few others ( cannibalize used stuff for parts, but that's about it. HTH, Geo.

Odd that we both have the same problem on the same model and same day..
If it's completely broken off, then you have probably pulled the threads out of the cheap plastic,, there are two screws that hold the handle on, one is easy to find/see, on the inside of the door, upper left corner,, to find the other, you need to remove (gently/carefully) the plastic bezel,, (all of this stuff is on the inside of the door), tap on it to find the plastic part,(bezel) and gently remove it by prying,, "prying" is an ugly word,, but since it snaps in, I'm not sure how else to tell you how to do it,, (Just go slow)
Once the bezel is removed, you can get to the other screw,
Now you have both screws, and know where they are supposed to fit later,,
On the back of the handle, the part that goes against the door, there are "studs" (plastic posts about 1/2 inch long and about the size of a pencil),, look closely into hole in the mounting stud, and you will probably see where the plastic threads have pulled out,, If thats the case,, the fun starts,,,

Go to lowes, or Home depot, and buy the smallest bottle of "Loctite" brand epoxy you can find,,
Look closely and the box will say something like,, "SETS IN 5 MIN.", or so,, get the LONGEST setting epoxy that they have,,

Now your back home and drinking a cold beer,, and ready for fun,, ---,Spray the screws with "non-stick" cooking spray, and set aside, (but handy)
Next,, match the handle back up to the door,, and identify which is the top,, mark it,, (masking tape and magic marker),,
I know it sounds silly, but you don't want to be fumbling around with it, while the epoxy runs back out of the holes and all over everything,, set the handle aside, but handy,,

Follow the instructions on the box, to mix the epoxy,, (work quickly)
Now,, using a toothpick or something similar,(disposable) dribble the mixed epoxy into the holes, (where the screws need to go), you don't need to fill them up, but a good 5 drops or so at least,,, WORK QUICK,,, remember to put it in both holes,,

Get ready to mate it back to the door, handle in one hand, a screw in the other,,
Top on top,, and from the front,,put the studs into the two holes
and as quick as you can, insert the screws,, you probably won't need to screw them in, (Threads are stripped out), but you may,, if so, just barely tighten them, just enough to "seat them, and the handle to the door,, It would be best to tape the handle in place until the epoxy sets,,
Check for ozzing,, dribbles, and drops,, and wipe it up now,, or it will be there forever,,
Sit back, put feet up, drink the rest of the beer, and watch epoxy dry,,, (Wait an hour to be safe) Besides, it gives ya more time to drink some more beer,,
Thats my best guess on how to re-attach the handle,, But I'm waiting until tomorrow to do it,, (out of beer)
Best of luck, Ted
