Can you help with the bluetooth problem?

I had bluetooth then I reformated my MT6705 and now I can't get it back.

  • Eddie5678 Aug 24, 2008

I am using Vista Home Prem. and I did use the recovery CD's. I have done some research and it seems this is a problem for many people. If i get the driver from Widcomm it installs and says it is working properly but it still doesn't work.

I hope you can help me.

Hi Eddie - Is this an integrated bluetooth or a USB? It sounds like a driver problem. If it is integrated and you used the recovery cd that came with the pc it should have installed the bluetooth driver. If it is USB have you tried just plugging it in and seeing if Windows finds the drivers? If I remember right I think it's something like F6 for Bluetooth if it's integrated on your model. Let me know the answers to all the questions above please and I'll try to get you going again. Thanks.

Eddie - I posted a response to this several days ago but I don't see it. So here goes again. I had asked if you used the recovery cd that came with your pc. Is your bluetooth imbedded or USB. This sounds like a driver problem. If you used the recovery cd it should have had the driver on it. If it is imbedded on that machine, if I rememner right I think it's F6 to activate the bluetooth. If it's USB we just need to get you the driver. Either way it's probably the driver. Let me know how you did the reformat and if the bluetooth is USB or imbedded and I'll take care of you. I imagune you're running Vist but let me know to be sure. Thanks.

My gateway mt6705 need a new motherboard

http://cgi.ebay.com/GATEWAY-MT6705-MT6707-MT6709-NOTEBOOK-MOTHERBOARD-/270422175742?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motherboards&hash=item3ef66aeffe
this may be the cheapest on ..if you do the work itself...it is not that hard ..just have to follow the steps ..and be sure you connect all back ..
to get to teh motherboard you have to remove all..starting with the hinges cover ..than battery ..hdd..dvd ..back lid..and than all screws that keep them together ..(also the heat dispenser..cause the screws are holding it back ...
after that keyboard..mouse pad..the usb ribbon at the side..and anything that crosses between the support ..(probably he lights on the lcd..and the lcd itself..from the hinges screws on the main side..

Good luck ..you'll need it..:D! I know cause I just get my head out from one a few hours ago...:D

There are 2 solutions. First, it can be that your Bluetooth chip is damaged. Second, it might be that the technician stole you Bluetooth chip and replace it with a fake/imitation one.

The power button, located at the top, right corner of the notebook is the only other button. Identical in nature to the shift key, the MT6705 uses a function key to control brightness, sound, and multimedia.  .to know a to z about your notebook just click this link http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3775

BLUETOOTH DRIVER

If you are using the Preinstalled version of Windows using the Recovery Disks or Recovery partition, you should be having the Bluetooth drivers.
However, you can download the drivers for the Bluetooth Hardware in your Notebook from the links provided below for Vista and XP :
Bluetooth hardware drivers for XP :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34264.exe

Bluetooth hardware drivers for Vista :
