Bright green 3 in the upper right corner of my TV

Hi: Does anyone know how to turn off the bright green 3 in the upper right hand corner of my tv? It appears that it is a setting called a channel label. When i go into the menu, under channel, i can see that the channel label says 3, and sure enough, there is a bright green 3 always displayed in the right corner, no mater which channel i am on.
i can't figure out how to turn this channel label setting off and get rid of the 3.
can anyone help??
thanks in advance!!

Well here I am 4years later but just purchased a Sony TV. It had the number three in thr top corner as well. It is not permanent. Just press the display button on remote. If you are wondering what channel you are watching just press display to see. Then press again.

I've had this identical problem and the solution for me was; to turn off the TV, physically unplug it from the wall/power strip/surge protector, next press and hold the on/off button for a count of eight seconds or so (you may hear a crack sound like when you turn it on from a cold start, but it's okay if you don't hear it snap/crack/pop mine did ) then leave it unplugged for at least an hour, finally plug it back in, push the on/off button and yes you will see the green mean obnoxious three but in a few seconds it will disappear until you need to do this again.

I believe the "Caption Vision" is selected. By pressing the "Display" button on the remote it should toggle through the choices until "Display Off" appears. That should be all.

We left our 40 inch ACER televison on the same channel for a couple of weeks. Now in the upper right hand corner is an image that won't go away. Is there a fix?

Im guessing this is a plasma television. Either replace the panel(very costly) or display a bright white screen on the tv and leave it like that for a several hours.

Light green and pink spots on my hd tv!!!

Hi--Bought my panasonic pt-52lcx65 on sale for $2200 in 8/05. Replaced the lamp for about $300 in 1/08, just prior to Superbowl. Admittedly, this was to be expected after family members watched lots of tv over 30 months. However, two months later the blue spot emerged in 3/08, and red spot emerged 5/08. Set looks decorated by a Andy Warhol or Van Gogh wannabe. I'm looking for a fix it solution. Dr. Bob Heiliger, Lebanon, OH.
