I recently bought a Scosche Digital FM Transmitter Model FMTD8/FMTD8R. I loaded my 8GB San-disk flash drive with music but the transmitter won't read it.. doesn't even detect the flash drive being plugged in.. please help.

A component on the mother board may have defaulted. May need replaced. Or a wire or cable is disconnected. Try rebooting the system.

It is a transmitter. It does not function with files only the sound source.

You plug your mp3 player into it and then it broadcasts the audio to any FM radio that you are near. so it is a wireless connection like bluetooth for sending your music to a car radio without wires.

I bought the fmtd8 scosche transmitter. If you're like me ,you tried to play music from you're cell phone first. That worked just fine. Then I made an sd card with a few hundred songs on it. P.S. I left the audio cable plugged in the the transmitter. The sd card with mp3. songs would not play for anything. After 2 days of trying,I finally decided to unplug the audio cable.. Voila!!!!! Instant sound.

a flash drive is used mainly for storing of files, you need a device that will play the files you want, in this case a device that plays mp3s and either transfer your music to/through it.
Unless your transmitter states that it plays different media formats that is but i have never heard of that before.

if your talking about playing an mp3 through your car radio, just go to your local walmart and buy a scosche FM transmitter in the automotive section, only $12 and take 2 AAA batteries

I have bought a car mp3 player fm transmitter recently, very high quality, It doesn't come to that problem, so lucky!

I just bought this transmitter and i plugged it into the car and my samsung mp3 player and it will charge the player but you cant hear any music even when i tune it to a vacant radio station.
