Your computer is not passing the Power On Self Test or POST. Turn up the sound on the speakers, if you hear the sound of Windows loading then the fault lies with the graphics adaptor/card.
If you don't hear the Windows loading sounds then the computer is experiencing a more serious fault.
See my published guide entitled My Computer is not turning on!!! Is it dead!!! No POST!!!
It goes through the standard procedure to find and repair the fault. Try and do it yourself if you can, the other option would be to contact a computer technician. Claim warranty support if you can. Usually a component has failed and would therefore need to be replaced, however it is possible that the fault is due to a loose connection some-where in the system. Go through the connections in the chassis and ensure that they are all in, give them a slight push.

Take care!

Monitor wont work on pc ..but monitors are good ,tried them on other pc's they work fine pc turns on fans turn on,mouse n keyboard wont work either!!!!

Sounds like a problem with your video adapter. Do you have an onboard video card, that is, one that is part of the motherboard?
If so, you can install a video card and the PC should recognize it on bootup.
If you have a card, you can replace your existing video card with another.
If the PC is running OK otherwise, that should fix it.

My emachine T1742 desktop will not turn on. When plugged in the power supply's fan turns on, cpu fan doesnt start, both hdd/power led's flicker and pressing power button doesnt power on/off system.

Disconnect all the devices from the computer(tower) including keyboard, mouse, monitor(everything)..even the power cable

Now keep on holding down the power button on the computer tower for 15-30 seconds..

Now release the power button, plug in the power cable, monitor, keyboard, mouse and turn on the computer...

If it works, great!!!

Otherwise, take it for repair..

Emachince t3604 with vista wont boot just a blank screen tried to get bios screen safe mode etc. but nothing shows on the monitor. n e advice?

Make sure --- turn power off, leave off for 30 seconds. Power up again, holding the F2 key down. This WILL take your eMachines into Setup (BIOS). If it doesn't then your keyboard is most likely defective. If it does get you to setup, press F10 and Enter. Reboot with Ctrl+Alt+Del and this time hold the F8 key down ... just hold it down till something happens, choose Start in Safe Mode with Network Support. Again if F8 doesn't work probly says Keyboard is bad. This is for whatever Operating System you are using.

Emachine wont start

remove all external and internal peripherls.

example for external: mouse, monitor, keyboard, printer.

Internal: hard drive, memory modules, video cards, modem (if there's any), optical drive or dvd drives.

just leave the motherboard, power supply and processor intact, try turning on the computer with out those components mentioned. see if you get a beep sound before it turns off, but if not the most logical part that needs to be replaced on this type of problem is the power supply if that doesn't work the next thing to do is replace the motherboard. hope that helps

hit me back on the results. thanks!

Steady orange light above the battery looking symbol

it sounds like you might have a bad board or memory card. If you dont hear the normal sounds from the computer as it boots up, its an internal problem.

After installing hard drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse not working

Have you tried to enter BIOS? Are you able to enter BIOS?? There may be an option you have to hit to enable SATA, and to select the boot device order, which may be messing things up.
Also, remember that STATIC ELECTRICITY is your enemy! Ground yourself when working inside the case.

D3123 won'w work

well it sounds like it's an old pc, is this correct? if it sounds like the fan then it could also be your power supply making that noise.. i would assume your power supply might be going bad..
if you happen to have recovery discs, then this should help.. will the eject button work on the cd rom? i woud shut it down completely, unplug an gadgets and only plug in the mouse, monitor and keyboard b4 you reboot and see if that helps.. chances are it's one of 2 things: fan or power supply.. let me know how it goes and if you are able to resolve your issue.. hope i was able to help..d
