When you print each page has a gray/black line running down the page from top to bottom about 2.5 inches from the edge of the paper. Sometimes it is darker and other times it is lighter. We have tried changing the toner and cleaning the roller but the line still appears. Help?

This type of line is cause by a scratch or smudge on the toner cartridge's image drum. You will need to replace the toner cartridge.

by dragging the black bar on the left with your mouse when
the cursor changes for resize

Clean the nozzles, align the print heads, turn it off for about an hour. You may need to do this twice, but it works for me.

looks like problem related with refilled cartridges

are you using refilled cartridges??

if yes then you have to check whether they are leaking or not,

if they are leaking, you have to maintain cleaning level

start a print from tray 1/manual feed and just as the trailing edge of paper is entering the machine;quickly open it to stop print and take out the cartridge and look at it's drum and the paper underneath. if the issue is there at that point then it would point to the cartridge. if not then the fuser

The small glass surface at the top of the scanner bed had some gunk on it. I scrapped it off and the line went away! Yay!

it could be the printer settings. Before you actually print something go to File>print:- and then choose properties, click on advanced and ensure that the correct paper and size is set to how you want it.

Is there any debris under the printhead nozzle plate?

1 of 3 things I can think of off top of my head.
Since they are straight, I would suspect the transfer unit.
If it were just one color it would be that imaging unit.
Unlikely the fuser.
It doesn't sound line an issue called bar coding ,where the machine prints random lines. That would be a software issue.
Take the transfer unit out and inspect it for the marks.
I am assuming the streaks are on all colors correct?
If it isn't on the transfer belt, and on all colors check the fuser and see if its latched.

you can try this:

remove the toner and photoconductor then tip it GENTLY from side-to-side

reseat them and print
