why not ask HP how to do that, (fixya is not HP
i think you are like 1 , in 1billion owners doing this.?
but is done by value added PC re-sellers, and is covered in the HP books. (if lucky some are not;.)

OK, this happened to me just yesterday, and I fixed it. Here's what you need to do.
1. Connect your iPAQ to your PC. You don't need ActiveSync, but you do need to make sure that your PC can actually communicate with your iPAQ.
2. Go to where you extracted the ROM update files. It's probably at "C:\iPAQ\SP26263" or something like that.
3. Download a hex editor. Here's one: http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm#download
4. Use the hex editor and open up H2B11020uo.nbf
5. Maximize the hex editor to full screen. Look at the right screen where it says "hp ipaq h1940 1.10.20 ENG". Fill up the top row with zeros. The words "hp ipaq h1940 1.10.20 ENG" will disappear.
6. Within "C:\iPAQ\SP26263", open up ROMUpdateUtility. It won't recognize your device (WHICH IS GOOD). Then you can reinstall the ROM update.

hi
there is problem with windows OS
u have to reinstall wondows befor you go for reinstall just tak backup from you C drive
BIOS is fixed program that starts up the computer. BIOS is initialized during start up of HP Compaq-6715B which sets the computer settings to be uploaded. BIOS enables the creation of a bootable diskette, CD, or USB key that can be used to locally restore or upgrade the System BIOS in the supported notebook models with a 68YTT Family ROM. Only insert the USB drive that will be used to format and create bootable BIOS upgraded USB media. However, you should remove all unused USB drives and flash drives from the notebook before. In order to ROM family and ROM date, press F10 on the target notebook during startup to run the setup utility.
The tips to get into the BIOS of HP Compaq-6715b are:
BIOS often has a blue background, and uses the arrow keys, PageUp, PageDown and enter keys to change the settings. After you have got into or accessed the BIOS, you can change the boot order settings so that the floppy disk is checked first to see if it contains a bootable program. Usually a message will appear telling you how to enter the BIOS setup program as the computer starts up, such as Press F2 for Setup.
Shows logo
Your HP Compaq-6715b might be configured to show your computer's logo instead of important BIOS messages. In this case, you can press Esc or Tab while the logo screen is visible. If you are facing problems pressing the pause button in time, turn on your computer with your keyboard unplugged. In this situation you will receive a keyboard error, which helps you in pausing the startup process long enough for you to see the keys necessary to enter BIOS.
Independent of OS
The PCs with both PS/2 and USB connections are configured to only allow USB input after the POST. If you are using a USB keyboard, it could be impossible to access BIOS. You would need to connect an older PS/2 keyboard to your PC to access BIOS. The BIOS accessing is independent of any Operating System on your computer because the BIOS is part of your motherboard hardware.
