Starting last week my Facebook news feed has started repeating old news 3 or 4 times while I'm checking it. I'll get some new news then the old ones will pop up again. This process occurs over and over with some of the old posts being a week old. Some of my friends are also experiencing this problem. Do you know of any way this can be fixed? The help page on Facebook does not address this problem, and I have not been able to find a way to contact Facebook.

Hi,

Its just a feature of Facebook, they keep on circulating old feeds and news. You cannot change it, it's happening with everyone if they notice it.

Regards,
Shrey

How can i get my old facebook back?

Instructions
    • 1 From the menu on the top left (the one with News Feed, Pages, etc.) Click on the word "more" at the bottom. This will provide all the possible views that you could have.
    • 2 One of the options will be "Status Updates." Click on it and drag it to the top of the list.
    • 3 Now that it is at the top, click on it and you will have your old facebook style restored.
    • 4 If you want to return to the new style - repeat the above steps except move "News Feed" instead of "Status Updates."

Why does Facebook show old posts instead of current/new on computer, when my phone keeps everything in order of posting?

This is a preference that can be set on the computer, on the top left of Facebook click on the down arrow next to News Feed and pick which you want to use.

On IOS you can only look at the News Feed in the order of newest first.

The recent newsfeed button is missing on my facebook page, can only get old news

An extremely small segment of users has been shown alternative version of the Facebook homepage which eliminates the "Most Recent" view from the news feed. Currently the company is soliciting feedback from users about the new version of the feed, however it appears many users aren't happy. As a search for "news feed most recent" displays below, most of the users seeing the new feed don't appear to be too happy.

While the test is among a small group of people, Facebook is constantly looking for a way to simplify features on the site. As Mark Zuckerberg said at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California last night, the more options that you give someone, the more likely they won't use them. However for those users who are actively using the feature, they tend to be attached to the feature.
The result is status updates like the ones embedded below. People are absolutely passionate about the smallest features on the site. Whether or not Facebook will decide to kill off "Recent Stories" is unknown. Ultimately it makes sense to have an unfiltered feed, however as any active Twitter user knows, at a certain point the unfiltered feed becomes overwhelming.
My guess is that Facebook finds some middle ground under which the link to view the "Recent"/unfiltered feed is relegated to a less prominent position. For now, Facebook continues to test new versions of the feed.

I block my friend on fb because of potho of me she tag but i not like now how can unblock her?

Facebook allows users to customize their individual news feed to filter out posts made by applications or friends that a user may not wish to view. The process of hiding friends and applications from your News Feed involves the click of a button and you can very easily hide a friend or application by accident. You can always restore a Facebook friend or application to your News Feed by following these simple steps.

1. Login to Facebook.
2. Go to your Facebook home page and make sure your News Feed is displayed (as opposed to "Live Feed").
3. Scroll down to the bottom of your News Feed and find the Edit Options menu on the right.
4. Click edit options and a box will pop up showing what you have hidden from your Facebook News Feed. Hidden posts are separated by friends and applications.
5. Find the friend or application that you wish to unhide. Once you've found it click the Add to News Feed button next to your selection. You will now once again see posts from that person or application in your news feed.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

First use since last year. can't get to start. ran out of fuel before storing, oil is full.. help ! arm getting sore pulling cord..

First you should get a new spark plug which might solve the problem. If it still won't start what I normally do with chainsaws, lawnmowers etc is to remove the spark plug and pour about 5ml (one teaspoonful) of fuel into the opening. Dip the spark end of the plug into fuel so the spark gap is wet and replace the plug in the saw. Try starting it now. The fuel you poured in should ignite and may be enough to start the saw. You may have to repeat the process 2 to 3 times. Don't be tempted to use more than 5 ml of fuel or you'll flood the saw.

I hope this solves your problem.

How can I block seeing all the games my friends play on Facebook?

Step 1 : To block the unwanted Facebook game updates from your News Feed, log into your Facebook account.

Step 2 : Go to a post in your News Feed that contains an update from a friend on a Facebook online game. For instance, go to a FarmVille update.

Hover your mouse pointer over the update. You will notice that the word "Hide" and a small arrow appears in the upper right-hand corner of the message. Click on the arrow.

Step 3 : A small drop down box will appear giving you the choice to Hide this friend, or just "Hide FarmVille". Let's say you really like this friend, but you just don't want to know every time they lose a cow or plant more corn, so click on "Hide FarmVille".

You will see a message where the FarmVille post used to be that says, "Farmville has been hidden from your News Feed. In the future, you won't see posts from FarmVille."

There, you've done it! You've removed all present and future FarmVille posts from your well-meaning friends. And of course, this works for any Facebook Online Game that you don't want to hear about anymore - Enjoy!

Step 4 : If for some reason you change your mind and want to bring FarmVille back, go down to the bottom of your News Feed. At the bottom right of all your posts, you will see "Edit Options". Click on this, and a list will pop up showing all your blocked Games. Click on "Add To News Feed", and the game updates will be returned to your Facebook page until the cows come home, or you change your mind again!

I cannot get the entire news feed and all on my facebook homepage. there is always an error coming. hardly i can see anything done by all my frnds recently. only 3 or 4 posts r visible on my homepage. but...

Facebook changed their site a little bit. News Feed aggregates the most interesting content that your friends are posting, while Live Feed shows you all the actions your friends are making in real-time.

You can control how many friends are shown in Live Feed by clicking "Edit Options" at the bottom of the page.

The News Feed algorithm bases this on a few factors: how many friends are commenting on a certain piece of content, who posted the content, and what type of content it is (e.g. photo, video, or status update).

You can remove friends from the News Feed list (from your default stream) simply by clicking the "Hide" that appears when you hover over their story in your stream.

To add someone back to your News Feed, follow these steps:
  1. Scroll down to the bottom of your News Feed and click "Edit Options."
  2. If you are looking for a friend, scan the list to find that person. If you are looking for a public profile, select the Public Profiles tab.
  3. Click "Add to News Feed" to see their posts again.
  4. Click "Close" to save your changes.

Facebook enables you to see what’s happening with your friends through past events and real-time feeds of information. Highlights and the News Feed were combined into a single stream so that you could have more control over what you view on your home page and stay connected with your friends.

As a result of this change, you’ll notice that the Suggestions section has been moved to the right-hand column of the home page. Also, birthdays and events are displayed more prominently on the home page.

When someone sends you a friend request, public stories about you may appear in their News Feed. If you decline a friend request from this person, public stories about you (stories that have the privacy set to "Everyone") will no longer appear in their News Feed. Please note that News Feed will never show stories that a non-friend wouldn’t ordinarily be able to see. For example, if you posted a video and set the privacy to "Friends," a person who is waiting for you to approve their friend request would not see that in their News Feed. If you had set the video to be visible to Everyone, that person would see it.

You can always change your privacy settings by selecting "Privacy Settings" under the Settings drop-down menu and clicking the appropriate section.
